Why This Role Matters
Kindbridge Behavioral Health has launched a new state partnership program in Arizona supporting first responders through psychological evaluations, annual assessments, and ongoing wellness monitoring. This role will serve as a Remote Licensed Psychologist (PsyD or PhD) conducting fitness-for-duty and psychological evaluations, as well as provide clinical interviews for law enforcement, fire, and emergency personnel. This position will be on-call, performing evaluations as referrals are received, with the goal of expanding into a consistent caseload as agency partnerships grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer fitness-for-duty and psychological evaluations for first responders in alignment with state and agency requirements
- Facilitate and interpret psychological assessments, producing clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations
- Evaluate the psychological readiness, resilience, and overall mental wellness of public safety personnel
- Collaborate with agencies and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care and follow-up when needed
- Facilitate and interpret workers' compensation evaluations
- Maintain detailed, confidential documentation in compliance with HIPAA and professional ethics
- Remain current on workers’ compensation and occupational-health psychology standards
- Ensure a positive and therapeutic environment for clients
- Participate in team and stakeholder meetings, and contribute to case discussions
Qualifications
- Doctorate degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, or related field required
- Active Licensed Psychologist credential within PSYPACT
- 8+ years of experience conducting psychological or fitness-for-duty evaluations
- Experience working with first responders (law enforcement, fire, EMS, etc.) required
- Highly proficient in fitness-for-duty and psychological evaluation administration, report writing, and interpretation of standardized psychological measures
- Workers’ compensation experience a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively document patient progress and treatment plans
- Comfortable using technology, including digital record-keeping software and telehealth platforms
