Senior Analyst, Customer Finance

Walnut Creek, CA

BUILT ON FLAVOR.  FUELED BY PEOPLE.

What’s it like to work at Kinder’s? Well, there’s a lot of snacking and geeking out over what we all cooked over the weekend. Beyond that, there’s also plenty of hard work. Because we don’t just like flavor, we’re obsessed with it.

With over 100 products sold nationwide, we’re now a top-five brand in multiple flavor categories at Costco, Walmart, Whole Foods, and more. We’re not your typical CPG company. Privately held and founder-led, we like to think of ourselves as a pirate ship in a sea of cruise ships. Our crew is adventurous and fearless. We chart our own course and chase big ideas to make food unforgettable.

As we expand globally and approach $1 billion in revenue, we need more smart-and-scrappy, flavor-obsessed people to come aboard. If you’re looking for a place where you can see the real impact of your work... this is it! Every day, you’ll be part of a journey to add flavor to millions of meals and lives.

About The Role

The Senior Analyst, Customer Finance helps deliver customer-level financial insights that drive profitable growth and support strategic decision-making. Supporting both Senior Managers of Customer Finance, this role partners with Sales, Sales Planning, Trade Finance, and Financial Planning.

The role covers customer P&Ls, trade investment scenario planning and ROI, and the reporting and planning support around them. You will turn customer and trade data into clear analysis and recommendations, and balance priorities across two managers and the account teams they support.

This is a hands-on, technical role in a function that is new at Kinder’s. You will help build the tools, templates, and reporting that make customer finance work.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Profitability & P&L Management

  • Build, maintain, and analyze customer-level P&Ls, including net revenue, gross-to-net, trade spend, logistics costs, and net profitability.
  • Analyze the drivers of customer profitability and support recommendations to improve financial outcomes.
  • Bridge customer performance vs. plan and prior year and explain what is driving results.
  • Identify P&L blind spots and bring them to the Senior Managers with a clear recommendation.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual customer financial performance reports.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and automated reporting tools using advanced Excel, Power Query, Power BI, VBA, and approved AI-enabled tools.
  • Complete ad hoc analyses to support commercial and executive decision-making.
  • Extract, reconcile, and validate data from multiple sources so customer reporting is accurate and consistent, including reconciliation with Trade Finance.

Trade Investment Scenario Planning, ROI & Compliance

  • Build scenario models for proposed trade investments, including baseline vs. incremental volume and ROI, using Trade Finance’s methodology and rate guardrails.
  • Support the incremental funding request process: prepare margin and ROI analysis, share a recommendation, and track decisions and outcomes.
  • Track actual results of approved investments vs. plan and prepare post-event ROI.
  • Track compliance with contracted trade terms and approved funding and work with the Senior Managers, Trade Finance, and Sales to resolve any issues.

Business Partnership

  • Partner with Sales, Sales Planning, Trade Finance, and Financial Planning to align on customer analysis, trade investment, and financial targets.
  • Prepare financial materials for customer business reviews, including profitability assessments.
  • Analyze new business opportunities and customer investments for alignment with profitability objectives.

Financial Planning, Forecasting & Controls

  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting for customer revenue, trade spend, and profitability.
  • Help keep volume forecasts and trade spend aligned with Sales Planning.
  • Monitor performance against plan and help improve financial models, processes, and controls.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Finance, FP&A, Commercial Finance, Customer Finance, Trade Finance, or related analytical roles.
  • Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods, Food & Beverage, Retail, or related industries preferred.
  • Understanding of customer P&Ls, gross-to-net analysis, trade spend, and profitability drivers.
  • Experience with promotional or trade ROI analysis (baseline vs. incremental volume) preferred.
  • Expertise in Excel, advanced understanding of VBA, and proficiency with Power Query and Power BI; experience with Anaplan or similar tools preferred.
  • Ability to organize, reconcile, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate analysis into clear recommendations for nonfinancial audiences.
  • Ability to support multiple managers and account teams at once, balancing competing requests and communicating clearly on timing and trade-offs.
  • Curiosity and willingness to use automation and approved AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve productivity and analysis.

Location and Travel

The position will be based onsite in Walnut Creek, CA. We strongly believe in the power of culture and community and have a hybrid work structure with 4 days in the office on a weekly basis to encourage collaboration and personal connections that will allow us to better serve our customers and consumer and to have more fun. Fridays are flex days with employees having the opportunity to choose to be either in the office or to work from home based on what makes most sense for them.

Pay Transparency

The expected starting salary range for this role is $115,000-$125,000 per year. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role. The amount a particular employee will earn within the salary range will be based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, performance and business needs.

SEASONED FOR SUCCESS:

  • No two days here are the same.
  • We try to be good team members and good communicators, but we don’t live by hierarchy and structure – everyone is a difference maker here.
  • We make a lot of decisions in the face of incomplete information – our team embraces ambiguity and tries to make good decisions fast rather than great decisions slow.
  • We believe our job is to take smart risk, not to eliminate risk.
  • We believe in growing our skills and becoming a better company with more managerial expertise, but we are an entrepreneurial company at heart.
  • We aren’t trying to be average – we want to do exceptional things, and we are willing to work hard to achieve them.

BENEFITS THAT BRING MORE TO THE TABLE:

We offer a range of total rewards that may include paid time off, 401k, bonus / incentive eligibility, equity grants, competitive health benefits, and other family-friendly benefits, including parental leave. Kinder’s benefits vary based on eligibility and can be reviewed in more detail during the interview process.

OUR RECIPE FOR BALANCE:

We believe great culture starts with people. We’re a people-first company built on connection, collaboration, and balance. Most of our work happens in the office to spark creativity and community, but we also offer flexibility so team members have the autonomy to work outside the office when needed to support their work-life balance and personal commitments.
