Portfolio / Renewal Underwriter - Workers' Compensation
About Kinetic
The Kinetic team is on a mission to create a safer workplace and better life for the frontline workforce around the world. We are re-defining workers comp by focusing on three main pillars: injury prediction, prevention, and management. Kinetic develops technology-driven solutions in each of these areas to create best-in-class outcomes for our policyholders.
Kinetic’s first product is a smart wearable device that monitors kinematic motion of an employee, and helps provide coaching on high-risk ergonomic motions such as bending, twisting, and jumping. It has proven to be incredibly effective at reducing frequency and severity of strain and sprain injuries by over 55%.
Since then, we have expanded into developing tools such as a rapid-return-to-work process, computer vision for safety in the workplace, and generative AI for claims management. This is an exciting opportunity to work at a company fusing technology with industry leading services to create happier, healthier employees.
The role
This is an exciting role to join Kinetic’s underwriting team, and engage in our territory expansion. Your responsibilities will include underwriting, retaining, and servicing of renewal accounts handled by our underwriting unit. The Portfolio Underwriter is expected to partner with production underwriters, field leadership, and underwriting technicians. They will investigate and promote franchise value opportunities including up-sell of services for renewal accounts handled; engage in producer management of assigned agency plant as necessary and appropriate; and act as the owner of individual renewal portfolio profit and loss performance.
Kinetic has an incredibly unique product that we are excited to offer to our brokers as a way to set their accounts up for injury reduction, premium savings, and happier employees over time. You will be the beacon of this message in your interaction with our brokers. You should have a strong background in positioning a value-based product in Workers’ Compensation and not be afraid that we are competing against lower price options.
