NDT Inspector - Level 2

Job Position Summary: The NDT Inspector will perform semi-routine tasks to ensure compliance with quality standards. They work closely with engineers and manufacturing to ensure effective nondestructive inspection and testing procedures are implemented and maintained. They assist in the development of production standards to meet quality specifications by suggesting improvements to QMS related NDI/FPI.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Adhere to safety regulations and standards.
- Performs product evaluations by using chemically treated metallic and nonmetallic parts and assemblies under fluorescent or black lighting for defects in accordance with quality requirements.
- Compiles and evaluates nondestructive inspection records in support of reporting quality trends.
- Conducts root cause investigation and preparation of corrective actions for customer issues or complaints relating to quality.
- Notifies supervisor of defective parts or materials.
- Writes non-conformance reports as required.
- Removes surface defects using hand tools, power tools, or abrasive solutions.
- Marks parts showing areas of nonconformance.
- Periodically drafts and maintains quality department procedures and work instructions.
- Cleans parts whenever required.
- Follow 6S procedures and maintain a clean organized work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a certified Level 2 NDT Inspector
- Ability to use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators.
- Strong attention to details

- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally
- Working knowledge of NADCAP AC7114/1 requirements
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Basic understanding of 6S
Working Conditions:
Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts
Physical Requirements:
- Must have ability to read applicable customer/Tell Tool documents with or without corrective lenses.
- May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.
- Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
