Job Position Summary:  Responsible to secure the best possible deals with vendors by conducting market research and negotiating contracts.  They support the sourcing and purchasing goods and services. Responsible for leading a team, while participating in the team’s work. The role is a working leader position where prioritizing and directing duties and individual contributions are balanced to support the organization’s goals. Oversight of new hires.  Managing projects and developing new processes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma with equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Aerospace industry.
  • Strong background in Raw Material purchasing. 
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Strong Negotiation Skills
  • Experience with engaging Supplier and building Relationships.
  • Advance Analytical skills to gather, process and interpret data to solve problems and make decisions to help in cost savings and to mitigate risk.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
  • Ability to read and interrupt work instructions to follow through and complete task.
  • Ability to multi-task, and pivot from one task to another
  • Ability to identify and solve problem as they arise.
  • Ability to Identifies areas for improvement in the supply processes and implements strategies to enhance efficiency.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to safety regulation and standard. Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
  • Analyze vendors for Cost Saving Improvements.
  • Reviews requisitions and creates purchase orders, then monitor order status to ensure timely delivery. 
  • Finding and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Work with operating system to maintain accuracy of purchase orders to clearly communicate availability dates and quantities to internal customers.
  • Purchase items at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, vendors, and internal departments. 
  • Maintain current and potential source information in connection with materials and responsible for file management on all Raw material certs.
  • Negotiates with suppliers regarding price, lead time, order quantities, shipping terms, and delivery expectations in accordance with strategic objectives.
  • Attends weekly production meetings to advise on raw material order status.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply and competitive pricing. 
  • Selecting and maintaining sources of supply, using progressive purchasing techniques and methods.
  • Resolves quality/delivery discrepancies and maintains clear, timely communication to internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiate vendor rejections and settlement. Responsible to advise vendor of reasons for rejection and cost incurred as a result of defective material.
  • Coordinate internal and external logistics for pickup/drop-off and truck maintenance.
  • Follow 6s Procedures and maintains a clean organized work area.
  • Work with engineering, standards, and cost improvement groups for new designs, materials, or suppliers.
  • Visit vendor plants to analyze facilities and capabilities.
  • Selecting vendors, setting proper prices, and studying F.O.B. points to mitigate risk.
  • Provides effective on the job training to new and existing employees, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs.
  • Encourages collaboration and fosters a team environment by practicing the principles of servant leadership.
  • Coordinates daily operations to ensure high level of productivity and quality in alignment with organizational goals
  • Provides guidance on work assignments by prioritizing work and allocating resources.
  • Maintains consistent flow and identifies bottlenecks.
  • Ensures that productivity and service level KPI’s are met.
  • Monitors operational metrics, evaluates performance, and provides feedback.
  • Leads by example and provides both individual contribution and support for the direct reports.
  • Conducts team meetings as required to achieve proper communication and development of the team.
  • Has oversight of new employees and assist in training.
  • Identifies areas for improvement in the processes and implements strategies to enhance efficiency.
  • Enforces safety regulations and procedures ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Facilitate effective communication between management and team members.
  • Ensures that processes adhere to quality standard and specifications.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

  • Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.
  • May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
  • May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.

Pay Range

$86,300 - $110,000 USD
