Program Coordinator - Offender Services
This position will support the Pathway Home 6 grant. This grant is expected to run for 42 months and provides funding for workforce development programs that support incarcerated individuals. The program goal is to improve employment outcomes and reduce recidivism by offering job training and other supportive services during incarceration and upon reentry into the community.

The Offender Services Team is comprised of competent and caring resource professionals who are innovative, resourceful, collaborative, and helpful in facilitating the reentry process for justice involved individuals who access resources at Kinexus Group. This responsibility requires that we be service oriented relative to the needs of all referred participants, while still assuring that all services adhere to federal, state and local policies and procedures, financial requirements as established through funding sources.

Michigan Works! Berrien-Cass-Van Buren expects the Program Coordinator to be a reliable, detail-oriented team member who ensures that all program operations run smoothly behind the scenes. You will be expected to maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with partners, track participant progress, and support the Program Manager in meeting all performance goals. Proactive problem-solving, a commitment to serving justice-involved individuals, and the ability to manage competing priorities with professionalism are essential to success in this role.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
The Program Coordinator plays a critical administrative and operational role in the success of the Pathway Home 6 reentry program. Under the direction of the Program Manager, this position ensures smooth program operations, accurate data tracking, coordination of service delivery, and effective communication across partners. The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and passionate about supporting justice-involved individuals as they transition into the workforce and community.
Program Administration & Coordination
- Support the Program Manager with day-to-day operations, including scheduling, partner communication, and compliance tracking.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, and events with internal staff and external stakeholders.
Data Management & Reporting
- Enter, maintain, and monitor participant records in the LS/CMI case management system.
- Track services, activities, measurable skill gains (MSGs), credential attainment, and employment milestones.
- Collaborate with Case Managers to ensure timely and accurate data collection and reporting.
- Assist in preparing quarterly and annual reports for funders and stakeholders.
Partner & Training Coordination
- Liaise with adult education providers, occupational training partners, and employers to obtain participation and credentialing data.
- Ensure documentation of training completions, credential awards, and skill-building progress.
- Maintain communication with public defenders, probation officers, and jail staff for scheduling and documentation support.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Monitor compliance with WIOA performance metrics and federal grant guidelines.
- Conduct internal reviews of documentation to ensure data integrity and program accuracy.
- Help implement continuous improvement processes in partnership with the Program Manager and Performance Manager.
MINUMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate’s degree in business administration, criminal justice, human services, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination, workforce development, or administrative support.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort using databases or case management systems.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working with justice-involved populations or within correctional/judicial environments.
- Familiarity with workforce development programs, including WIOA.
- Knowledge of LS/CMI or other case management software.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office-based with regular travel to jails, employer sites, and partner meetings.
- Must pass background checks as required by jail facilities.
- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate access to correctional settings and participant needs.
