Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist contributes to the company's success by delivering an effective and efficient service to internal customers, external suppliers, and co-team members as part of the accounting team. You are responsible for the approval, matching, and correct recording of all external, internal, and inter-company invoices. This is an in-office position.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities  

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures specifically those related to full-cycle accounts payable
  • High degree of accuracy, strong attention to detail but also able to look at the "big picture"
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Ability to develop and refine effective processes in a fast paced, growing organization
  • Willingness to perform additional office tasks as needed 

Requirements 

  • Some formal accounting education
  • 2+ years of accounts payable experience
  • Experience in construction is considered a plus, but is not required
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Must be proficient in accounting software (experience with Sage CRE 300 is a plus)
