Brand Motion Designer

Remote

Description

Kit is an email-first operating system for creators who mean business. We help creators grow and monetize their audience with ease. For coaches, YouTubers, authors, podcasters, and other creatives, there isn't a better marketing hub to rely on to grow audiences, automate email marketing, and sell digital products — all within one platform. More importantly, there isn't a team more committed to helping creators earn a living.

We're on a mission to help creators earn $1 billion using our creator marketing platform. We have always been 100% independent and 100% remote. We are proud to have built a product that our customers love, and we look for people who have enthusiasm and belief in our mission, vision, and values to join our team.

We're also embracing AI thoughtfully — both in how we build and how we hire to ensure our team is adaptable, innovative, and ready for what's next.

The Kit culture is one where emotional intelligence is valued, radical candor is encouraged, and where everyone works together to uphold a set of shared team principles.

The role

We're looking for a Brand Motion Designer with exceptional motion graphics and video editing skills to join our remote team and bring our brand and marketing strategy to life through dynamic visual storytelling.

As part of our multidisciplinary Brand Studio team, you'll create compelling motion assets that communicate the value of Kit and build on our reputation as a high-quality, modern tool for professional creators.

You'll take ownership of how our brand moves and animates across all brand surfaces (such as marketing channels, campaigns, events, and even inside of our product) and you’ll help us drive key brand and product metrics - like conversion, awareness, and feature adoption through motion assets that resonate with our audience and differentiate Kit in the market. You’ll also play a core role in establishing Kit's motion design standards and systems.

This is a full-time IC role ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, is passionate about using motion as a powerful visual communication tool, and enjoys collaborating as part of an in-house creative team at a scaling company.

Your support system

You’ll report to our Creative Director, Charli Prangley, and collaborate closely with our two Senior Brand Designers, Product Designers, Product Marketing Managers, marketing channel managers and Brand Writer to create compelling assets. You’ll give and receive design feedback weekly in our standups and async in Slack, where we also regularly share creative inspiration with each other.

What you'll do

  • First Week: Dive into our brand strategy documentation, visual identity systems, and current motion assets. Take part in Get To Know You's (GTKYs) to meet our distributed team.

  • First Month: Start contributing to storyboarding and animating for our weekly product marketing releases and taking ownership of small motion design projects. Present a brand analysis and motion design opportunities assessment to the team.

  • First Six Months: Successfully establish Kit's motion design language and create your first major product marketing motion graphics campaign. Lead the development of motion design templates and systems that other team members can use to bring our messaging to life. Ship motion assets that measurably improve campaign performance metrics like click-through rates, signups and feature adoption.

  • First Year: You’ll play a key role in achieving Kit’s brand awareness and conversion goals by delivering high-performing motion assets that drive engagement, increase signups, and accelerate customer activation. You’ll also scale our motion design systems to enable faster campaign execution and consistent brand storytelling, directly contributing to our growth as the go-to platform for creators building profitable businesses.

What will S.E.T. you up for success

Skills

  • Advanced After Effects proficiency with strong animation principles knowledge
  • Motion design systems thinking and template creation
  • Strategic storyboarding and concept development for marketing campaigns to help reach campaign goals
  • Knowledge of graphic design principles & ability to create layouts in Figma
  • Ability to craft animations optimized for implementation on the web (eg: Lottiefiles, CSS animation)

Experiences

  • 3+ years in a motion design role at a SaaS or tech company
  • Experience driving measurable business results through the creation of motion graphics for various marketing channels (social, web, email, ads)
  • Experience working with brand guidelines and maintaining visual consistency across assets
  • Worked as part of a remote-first company on a distributed team
  • Background in the creator economy

Traits

  • Growth mindset – you’re always looking for ways to learn, improve, and elevate your craft
  • Highly organised creative problem-solver who is able to juggle multiple projects without sacrificing clarity or quality
  • Detail-oriented with strong aesthetic sensibilities, but you don’t let perfectionism stop you from shipping
  • Takes an iterative approach to the work – you use each project as a chance to intentionally learn what works best to drive results
  • Collaborative and comfortable giving and receiving feedback – you thrive in a team environment where ideas are challenged, improved, and celebrated together

What won't set you up for success

  • Seeking highly prescriptive creative briefs with little need for exploration – We value creative ownership and expect you to help shape the solution, not just execute it.
  • If you do your best work independently and prefer minimal collaboration, this won’t be a fit. This role thrives on feedback and close partnership with stakeholders.
  • Discomfort with rapid iteration and feedback cycles – We move quickly and treat iteration as a path to stronger outcomes.
  • Focusing solely on creative output without considering business impact or implementation – You must understand how motion assets impact company goals, and take ownership to ensure they’re implemented effectively.
  • Resistance to creating systematic, reusable design solutions when appropriate – We design for scale and efficiency. That means thinking beyond one-off assets and being able to balance the time you spend on a project with the expected business impact.

Working hours and location

We're 100% remote with team members across the globe. We work mostly on East Coast time—so if you're based on the West Cost of the United States, Europe, or Asia, you might have a few early mornings or late evenings. We do our best to keep things reasonable, but a little time zone juggling comes with the territory. Brand Studio team members are currently based in Eastern US and Central European timezones, so this role requires availability for regular collaboration during the crossover period of those timezones.

  • Twelve (12) weeks paid parental leave and flexible scheduling in your child’s first year
  • Up to six weeks of paid bereavement leave, medical leave, and disaster after six months of employment, two weeks of each paid leave in your first six months
  • Winter Break Closure: Kit closes for a week at the end of December, giving everyone a collective break to enjoy the holiday season. Essential support services remain available, with teams coordinating to ensure coverage during this period
  • Four-week, paid sabbatical after five years with the team
  • Fantastic in-person or virtual retreats with the team twice a year

Kit is an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity in all of its forms, and we hire the best person we can for each role, no matter your personal background. Research tells us that applicants who are female or non-binary, as well as applicants who are people of color, are less likely to apply for roles they do not feel 100% qualified for. If you think you meet more than 50% of our requirements but fewer than 100% of them, please apply. We’re imperfect communicators, so think of our job postings as the starting point for discussion rather than proof that you shouldn’t apply.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
