HOURLY RATE; $20.00/hour

THE HIRING COMPANY: The Kitchen Grill & Games at Discovery is a one-of-a-kind indoor/outdoor entertainment destination combining great food, drinks, and America’s fastest-growing sport—pickleball. Our venue features six indoor and four outdoor courts, along with a full lineup of indoor and outdoor games, ice skating, live music, and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere! The Kitchen at Discovery is one of several exciting amenities built and planned for residents of Aria and the greater Columbia community, offering a place where fun, recreation, and connection come together!

ICE GUARD ATTENDANT; The Ice Guard Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all guests, staff, and property at the ice rink facility. This includes maintaining a visible presence, enforcing facility rules, monitoring behavior, and responding to emergencies as necessary. The officer will work closely with the ice rink management team to create a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors.

ICE GUARD ATTENDANT ATTENDANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure Guest Safety: Enforce ice rink rules and regulations, including but not limited to proper ice safety, equipment use, and visitor conduct.
• Guest assistance; Provide on-ice assistance to guests, particularly those who may be new to skating or experiencing difficulty.
• Crowd Control: Assist in managing large groups during public skate sessions, ice events, and competitions to prevent overcrowding and ensure smooth operations.
• Incident Response: Respond to emergencies, including accidents or altercations, and provide assistance.
• Collaboration with Staff: Work with staff to resolve any safety concerns, maintain ice conditions, and ensure a secure environment for visitors.
• Documentation: Complete incident reports and maintain records of all security-related activities.

ICE GUARD ATTENDANT QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to confidently and safely skate on ice, including stopping, turning, and maintaining balance.
• Familiarity with ice rink operations or experience in a recreational facility setting
• First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergencies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods and work in cold environments
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
