Our office is located in Mountain View, CA within walking distance to the Caltrain station. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with 3-4 office days per week (depending on your team) and the remainder of the week working remotely.

About the Job:

Our Educational Sales team brings KiwiCo’s products to the educational market. Segments we focus on are after-school, summer, and enrichment programs that share our passion for hands-on learning. We’re a small, dynamic, and collaborative group that loves building long-term partnerships in the education space.
 
KiwiCo is looking for an ambitious and self-motivated Account Manager to join a highly collaborative educational sales team focused on driving medium-to-large Educational account sales across the full range of the KiwiCo product portfolio. The Account Manager will be primarily responsible for maintaining a list of active customers and growing the customer base by establishing new customer accounts. 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining relationships with existing large accounts to drive retention and achieve long-term partnerships; act as the main point of contact in all matters relating your customers, including following up to ensure customer needs are met (40%)
  • Advising and guiding potential customers to the right products and solutions based on their unique needs. Deliver accurate quotes and pricing within company guidelines and approvals. (30%)
  • Targeting, prospecting, and closing new businesses, building and maintaining a sales pipeline to deliver on sales targets. (20%)
  • Representing KiwiCo at Educational conferences, showcasing and demonstrating how KiwiCo STEM kits can be incorporated seamlessly into new or existing programs (<5%)
  • Delivering weekly internal sales and pipeline reports to management
  • Collaborating with business unit partners to maintain and expand our educational offering, including:
    • Finance - set up and serve accounts by reviewing tax forms, setting up vendor approvals, reviewing purchase orders, and invoicing
    • Marketing - align and execute on conferences, case studies, and other sales collateral
    • Customer care - collaborate on ongoing customer service needs
    • Technology - improve the portfolio of sales tools (e.g., CRM) over time

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years in an account management, customer success, or B2B sales role
  • Experience working in the education sector required (i.e., working in or with schools, camps, or other educational programs)
  • Demonstrated success in maintaining and growing customer relationships and meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Experience with CRM or customer management tools (HubSpot, Oracle/NetSuite, or similar)
  • Project management experience is a plus. Strong organization, follow-up, and documentation skills. You never let a lead or customer need slip through the cracks
  • A proactive, customer-first mindset; you’re energized by understanding needs and crafting creative solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both with customers and internal partners. We are a small and highly collaborative sales team.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, enjoys building and improving new processes, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Start-up or non-profit experience a plus

The starting pay range for this position is between $90,000 and $130,000 OTE. However, the final base salary offered may differ based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and business needs.

In addition to base pay, KiwiCo offers a comprehensive total rewards package, which may include opportunities for an annual bonus, stock options, and a variety of benefits related to health, financial security, and well-being. Specific details about these benefits will be shared if an offer of employment is extended.
