This position is a hybrid role open to candidates in the greater Tampa Bay area. The ideal candidate will work in our Clearwater, FL office 3 days per week.

Dates of Program: January 25th, 2027 - April 16th, 2027 (12 weeks)

The Software Engineer Intern will assist in developing new and exciting products for KnowBe4’s customers, collaborating with other engineers in a fast-paced, agile development environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write well-designed, efficient, and testable code. 
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems. 
  • Work on software documentation and participate in code reviews.
  • Develops software using the KnowBe4 Software Development Lifecycle and Agile Methodologies

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how a feature moves from idea to production on a professional engineering team
  • Learn to navigate unfamiliar codebases and ask effective questions when stuck
  • Develop judgment about code quality, including readability, maintainability, and testing
  • See how engineering decisions affect customers, especially in security awareness
  • Strengthen communication skills, such as sharing progress, flagging blockers, and receiving feedback
  • Collaborate with engineers in a fast-paced environment to deliver features for KnowBe4's customers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in the python programming language
  • Proficiency in writing SQL
  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle

Education:

  • Must be a Junior or Senior candidate
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
