
Content Marketing Senior Editor
Position Overview:
The Content Marketing Senior Editor is responsible for turning KnowledgeCity's content marketing strategy into high-quality, search-optimized content that supports organic traffic, search visibility, audience engagement, lead generation, and sales-qualified opportunities.
This role leads day-to-day editorial execution across website content, articles, guides, reports, case studies, landing pages, thought leadership, and other marketing assets. The Content Marketing Senior Editor works closely with writers, designers, SEO resources, product marketing, sales, and other stakeholders to ensure content is accurate, differentiated, aligned with business priorities, and consistently produced to a high standard.
The role combines editorial leadership with hands-on writing, editing, SEO optimization, and performance analysis. The Content Marketing Senior Editor must be able to strengthen drafts, guide contributors, translate complex topics into clear and compelling content, maintain high editorial standards, and use performance data to continuously improve content.
Responsibilities:
- Execute the editorial side of KnowledgeCity's content marketing strategy, producing high-quality content that supports organic growth, brand visibility, lead generation, and qualified pipeline.
- Help manage the content calendar based on business priorities, target audiences, industries, product initiatives, search opportunities, and seasonal compliance needs.
- Translate content strategy into clear briefs, outlines, and assignments for HR, Learning & Development, compliance, safety, training, and workforce development audiences across KnowledgeCity's key solution areas.
- Conduct keyword, competitor, content gap, and search intent research to support topic selection, content development, and topic authority.
- Lead the writing, editing, and review of SEO-focused content, including articles, pillar pages, solution and industry pages, guides, reports, case studies, comparison pages, landing pages, and downloadable resources.
- Develop and refine content briefs and drafts to ensure content is accurate, differentiated, conversion-focused, well structured, and aligned with KnowledgeCity's positioning and brand voice.
- Apply SEO best practices across new and existing content, including keyword targeting, page structure, metadata, internal linking, content depth, readability, and search intent.
- Continuously optimize and refresh existing content based on rankings, traffic, engagement, conversions, competitive activity, changing search behavior, and business priorities.
- Work with product, sales, subject matter experts, design, and other teams to verify accuracy and create credible content that connects KnowledgeCity's capabilities to real customer challenges.
- Strengthen conversion paths within content by incorporating relevant calls to action, resources, product pages, demo requests, and other lead-generation opportunities.
- Review content performance across impressions, rankings, traffic, engagement, leads, MQLs, SQLs, and other business outcomes, and recommend editorial improvements based on the results.
- Monitor traditional and AI-powered search trends, competitor strategies, and emerging opportunities to improve content quality, visibility, and market authority.
- Maintain editorial standards, style guidelines, quality-control processes, and scalable workflows while providing clear feedback and guidance to writers and other contributors.
- Use AI and marketing technology to improve research, drafting, editing, optimization, repurposing, production efficiency, and performance analysis while maintaining strong human review and editorial judgment.
Required Experience and Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial, SEO, B2B marketing, digital marketing, or a related field, with significant hands-on writing and editing experience.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with experience creating, substantially editing, and improving content such as articles, website pages, landing pages, guides, reports, case studies, and thought leadership.
- Strong understanding of B2B content marketing and SEO, including keyword research, search intent, topic clusters, content architecture, internal linking, on-page optimization, and content refresh strategies.
- Strong editorial judgment, with the ability to improve structure, clarity, accuracy, positioning, tone, readability, and conversion effectiveness while simplifying complex products and business topics.
- Experience using SEO and analytics tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Semrush, or similar platforms to evaluate rankings, traffic, engagement, conversions, and funnel performance.
- Experience developing content briefs and providing editorial direction and feedback to writers, freelancers, agencies, or other contributors while maintaining high quality standards and deadlines.
- Strong analytical and commercial judgment, with the ability to evaluate and prioritize content based on search opportunity, audience relevance, buyer intent, product alignment, conversion potential, and revenue impact.
- Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple content initiatives and work effectively across marketing, sales, product, design, subject matter experts, and leadership.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted content research, drafting, editing, optimization, and emerging search trends, with sound judgment around human review, fact-checking, and quality control. Experience in B2B SaaS, HR technology, Learning & Development, corporate training, compliance, or workforce technology is strongly preferred.
