- Ability to apply GAAP accounting standards, such as ASC 606 and identify key accounting and operational implications when evaluating new products and services going to market, while maintaining policies and procedures as our product offerings and systems evolve.
- Partner with Sales, Deal Desk and Legal to review non-standard customer agreements to evaluate revenue recognition impacts and propose solutions that align with internal policies and company objectives.
- Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis on forecasting, budgeting and analysis of revenue.
- Proactively identify and lead improvement initiatives with an emphasis on automation, operational efficiency and long-term scalability that shape our revenue ecosystem in collaboration with the go-to-market, IT and Sales Operations teams.
- Implement and document policies, processes and controls on areas related to revenue recognition.
- Coordinate with the cross-functional teams to resolve any billing and revenue issues.
- Prepare and / or review schedules, information and memos and manage interactions with external auditors on all revenue accounting matters.
- Support special projects as necessary, which may include software implementation and integrations, or other automation projects.
- Manage, develop and mentor a high performing team that employs best in class practices.
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field, CPA strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with deep knowledge of ASC 606 and Quote-to-Cash process.
- Experience with SaaS and / or professional services revenue streams required.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functional units and levels within the organization with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Detail oriented, managing projects end-to-end, meeting deadlines and bringing structure.
- Experience with NetSuite, required and Salesforce, a plus.
