We are seeking a Manager of Benefits & Compliance to lead our firm’s employee benefits and compliance functions. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring our employees feel supported, informed, and cared for while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance. Who We Want
• Lead the administration, communication, and continuous improvement of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement plans, and leave policies.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations (ERISA, ACA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.).
• Oversee benefits renewals, vendor relationships, and plan design in collaboration with brokers and consultants.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all benefits-related inquiries, escalations, and issue resolution.
• Develop and deliver employee education initiatives on benefits, wellness, and compliance.
• Lead annual open enrollment, including system preparation, employee communications, and reporting.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure plan compliance and data accuracy.
• Monitor legislative updates and proactively assess their impact on firm policies and practices.
• Collaborate with finance to ensure accuracy in time & attendance records, benefits deductions, employee reimbursements, and reporting.
• Manage and ensure timely submission of required filings such as 5500s, PCORI fees, and EEO-1 reports.
• Manage employment verification requests in a timely, confidential, and accurate manner.
• Lead the coordination and execution of charitable fundraising and employee membership drives to support the firm’s commitment to community engagement.
What You Need
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience in benefits administration and compliance, preferably within a professional services or law firm setting.
• Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local benefits regulations including ERISA, ACA, FMLA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
• Proven experience managing benefits renewals, open enrollment, and vendor partnerships.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and discretion.
• Professional certifications such as CEBS, PHR, or SHRM-CP are preferred but not required.
