People Operations Associate

Costa Rica

We Breathe Life Into Data

At Komodo Health, our mission is to reduce the global burden of disease. And we believe that smarter use of data is essential to this mission. That’s why we built the Healthcare Map — the industry’s largest, most complete, precise view of the U.S. healthcare system — by combining de-identified, real-world patient data with innovative algorithms and decades of clinical experience. The Healthcare Map serves as our foundation for a powerful suite of software applications, helping us answer healthcare’s most complex questions for our partners. Across the healthcare ecosystem, we’re helping our clients unlock critical insights to track detailed patient behaviors and treatment patterns, identify gaps in care, address unmet patient needs, and reduce the global burden of disease.

As we pursue these goals, it remains essential to us that we stay grounded in our values: be awesome, seek growth, deliver “wow,” and enjoy the ride. At Komodo, you will be joining a team of ambitious, supportive Dragons with diverse backgrounds but a shared passion to deliver on our mission to reduce the burden of disease — and enjoy the journey along the way.

For this role, we have partnered with an Employer of Record (EoR) vendor, which allows us to collaborate with contingent professionals across different regions. Please note that for this position, you will be employed directly by our EoR who will be responsible for all employer obligations, including payroll, benefits, and local HR support, and you will be contracted out to Komodo Health. Our recruitment team will elaborate on this further in our introduction conversations.

The Opportunity at Komodo Health

The People Operations team at Komodo manages the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring a seamless experience from onboarding to offboarding. We serve as the backbone of the organization by overseeing critical functions such as immigration sponsorship, global compliance, and HR data integrity. Our goal is to build a stable, scalable infrastructure that allows our people to focus on their best work without administrative friction.

As our People Ops Associate, you will be the backbone of our employee experience, ensuring that every "Dragon" (as we call our team members) is supported from their first day to their last.

The mission of the People Ops Associate is to provide a frictionless, high-touch employee experience through operational excellence. You will own the integrity of our HR data and the execution of the employee lifecycle, partnering closely with the People Operations Team to scale programs that keep Komodo Health an industry-leading place to work.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have accomplished…

  • Seamless Life-Cycle Management: Achieve a 100% "on-time" completion rate for onboarding and off-boarding tasks, ensuring every new hire feels welcomed and every departure is handled with dignity.
  • Data Integrity Champion: Execute a quarterly audit process that results in 99% data accuracy within Workday, serving as the "single source of truth" for the organization.

  • Process Optimization: Successfully support at least two manual People Ops workflows to increase departmental efficiency as we scale.
  • Contingent Workforce Oversight: Streamline the tracking of contract end dates and extension approvals, reducing "last-minute" access lapses to zero.

These are the essential job duties you will be responsible for …

  • Life-Cycle Support: Orchestrate the end-to-end onboarding and off-boarding experience, coordinating with IT, Payroll, and Hiring Managers to ensure a smooth transition for every employee.
  • HRIS Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in Workday, acting as an administrator for data entries, job changes, and organizational updates.
  • Employee Advocacy: Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, helping team members navigate Komodo’s policies, benefits, and internal systems with empathy and clarity.
  • Program Design: Contribute creative ideas and administrative support as we design and scale new People programs.
  • Audit & Compliance: Conduct regular data hygiene checks and internal audits to ensure operational accuracy and compliance with labor regulations.

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):

  • Operational Experience: 2+ years of experience in HR, People Operations
  • Systems Proficiency: Previous experience managing data within an HRIS (Workday experience is a major plus).
  • Extreme Detail-Orientation: A natural "proofreader" mindset with the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks without dropping the ball.
  • Communication: Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills; the ability to explain complex policies in simple, human terms.
  • High Integrity: Proven ability to exercise absolute discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential employee information.
  • Resourcefulness: A "figure-it-out" mentality and the ability to find answers independently while knowing when to ask for guidance.

At Komodo, we value innovation. In this role, you can leverage GenAI tools to:

  • Draft Internal Communications: Use AI to create first drafts of policy updates, company-wide announcements, or FAQs to ensure tone consistency and clarity.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize AI-assisted spreadsheets to identify patterns in employee feedback or turnover data.
  • Process Documentation: Quickly generate SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) by feeding raw notes into AI to create structured guides for the team.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth technology or healthcare-tech environment.
