THE OPPORTUNITY

The Data Intelligence Team builds scalable and reliable data systems that collect, process, and serve data across the KRAFTON Publishing Platform. We enable data-driven features such as recommendations, dashboards, and segmentation at the intersection of game and platform services, enhancing both the quality and operational efficiency of publishing platform services.

We are looking for someone who can design and operate complex real-time and batch data pipelines with scalability in mind and collaborate with analysts and engineers to deliver tangible impact to the publishing platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and optimize data platform architecture to reliably collect, process, and serve data across the Publishing Platform.
  • Develop and operate backend systems that support various service needs in both real-time and batch environments, with scalability and reliability in mind.
  • Design and optimize ingestion pipelines for collecting and processing data from external sources such as community platforms, social media, and 3rd party APIs.
  • Build flexible and reliable data workflows in a Databricks.
  • Collaborate with analysts and software engineers to deliver real-time and non-real-time data required for insights and feature development in the Publishing Platform.
  • Design and improve data models, storage structures, and serving systems.
  • Continuously improve data engineering processes and contribute to establishing technical standards and best practices within the team.
  • Maintain and operate CI/CD pipelines and documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years of experience designing and developing production-level backend services in a cloud environment.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Python (or a similar scripting language).
  • 4+ years of experience with Apache Spark.
  • Experience building real-time or near-real-time data pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of modern data stack and cloud-based architectures.
  • Strong debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills with a logical and proactive mindset.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Ability to define priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously when needed.
  • Critical thinking and a solution-oriented approach to complex problems.
  • Passion for learning and adopting new technologies.

BONUS:

  • Experience with data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Experience building and optimizing user-facing services in Kubernetes-based environments.
  • Hands-on experience collecting and processing large-scale data from social media, community platforms, and 3rd party sources.
  • Experience designing and managing terabyte or petabyte scale data warehouses.
  • Korean language proficiency.
