THE OPPORTUNITY

The Data Intelligence Team builds and maintains data-serving systems and APIs that power the Krafton Publishing Platform. We provide aggregated and inferred data, such as rankings and recommendations, ensuring seamless integration into publishing services. Data analysis and machine learning model development are handled by a dedicated Data Analytics Team and Deep Learning Division. We work closely with them to serve processed insights in an optimized format for real-time and batch applications. Additionally, we collaborate with various development teams within the Publishing Platform Division to ensure data is efficiently integrated into services and delivered reliably. Our team thrives in a global work environment, collaborating across different time zones and languages. We are looking for a software engineer who can effectively navigate these challenges and contribute to a highly collaborative, cross-functional team.

Tech Stack:

  • Languages: Python, Go, Scala, SQL
  • Frameworks & Platforms: Databricks, Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS)
  • Data Processing & Storage: Apache Spark, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Kinesis

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with global teams
    • Work with teams across multiple regions, including Korea, to streamline data flows and improve service reliability
    • Adapt to time zone differences and language barriers, leveraging asynchronous communication and structured workflows
  • Architect and manage scalable data processing pipelines
    • Develop high-performance, real-time data processing architectures to support large-scale data workloads
  • Design data models and architecture
    • Analyze data lakes and domain events to design efficient data schemas that meet product requirements
  • Process and transform data for service optimization
    • Implement batch and real-time data pipelines to ensure seamless integration with publishing services
  • Develop and optimize data-serving systems
    • Work closely with deep learning researchers, data engineers, and analysts to build real-time data-serving pipelines

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of backend service development & operations experience or equivalent expertise
  • Proven ownership of cloud-based service development and operations
  • Experience developing scalable, cloud-native applications using modern programming languages
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Solid debugging, testing, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong understanding of PR-based code review culture and an ability to work collaboratively
  • Experience processing and serving data from social listening tools, community platforms, or other large-scale data sources
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies
  • Strong critical-thinking skills and a solutions-driven mindset
  • Familiarity with Databricks, Apache Spark, and large-scale data processing
  • Experience developing software in Python or Go
  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining scalable backend services
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, etc.)

BONUS:

  • Proficiency in Korean is a plus
