KIGI aims to support 6-10 teams annually with program durations ranging from six months to one year. Additionally, KRAFTON India has invested over $150 million in the Indian market in the past two years and has committed an additional $150 million to the Indian start-up ecosystem over the next three years.
[About the Role]
We are looking for an Principal Engineer to support the Technical Director in driving the architecture, scalability, and quality of our game systems. You will oversee engineering teams, guide best practices, and ensure robust implementation of gameplay and live-ops features. This role balances hands-on technical contributions with leadership, mentorship, and cross-team collaboration.
[Responsibilities]
- Work with Technical Director to architect and implement core gameplay systems, including player movement, weapon mechanics, and shooting feel.
- Lead the development of the hero ability and combat systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and fun.
- Collaborate closely with game designers to prototype, iterate, and polish hero kits and combat loops.
- Write high-quality, performant, and maintainable code for all gameplay features.
- Mentor other engineers on the gameplay team, fostering best practices in gameplay systems architecture.
- Optimize gameplay code to ensure a smooth experience across a wide range of mobile devices.
[Requirements]
- 8+ years of experience in game development, with a focus on gameplay engineering.
- Shipped at least one multiplayer action or shooter title.
- Expert proficiency in C# and the Unity game engine.
- Deep understanding of game feel, player input, and character mechanics.
- Proven ability to architect complex, scalable gameplay systems from the ground up.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
