Summary:

KBRA Europe is looking for an Intern to support its growing Financial Institutions group that conducts credit analysis and monitors its portfolios of issuers primarily in Europe. The intern will have the opportunity to gain firsthand experience into the life of a credit rating agency analyst and to learn valuable skills coveted in any corporate setting. The role will be exposed to a variety of tasks across different types of financial institutions, mainly banks, asset managers, and finance companies.

We are looking for a candidate who will thrive in a dynamic environment where multitasking and analytical skills are essential. The position has a duration of up to 9 months. This role will be based at KBRA’s Dublin office.

Key Job Requirements:

• Provide analytical support in surveillance and new issuance deal workflows
• Develop spreadsheets and analytical materials, including credit memos, to support the ratings process
• Analyse issuers’ financial statements
• Manually pull and manipulate statutory financial data
• Contribute to industry research focused on financial institutions
• Participate in due diligence meetings

Key Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, math or any related fields that result in strong analytical skills
• Keen interest in credit analysis/capital markets and ability to learn quickly
• Familiarity with financial statement analysis is preferred
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Proficiency in SQL and VBA for querying databases is a strong advantage
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Curiosity and drive to learn/develop
• Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as work closely with others in a collaborative environment
