Summary/Overview:

KBRA Data Management is a part of KBRA technology department that works closely with the lines of business to improve both ratings and data processes, adherence to compliance and credit policies, and data quality across the rating lifecycle. The Data Operations team provides operational support to KBRA rating teams, workflow coordination, performs various data services, and other broad data support. This is a “player-coach” role that involves leading the team of data stewards and working collaboratively with members of the analytical teams, IT and others to ensure that procedures are followed to support the needs of the business and support compliance with the Company’s overall business and regulatory requirements.  In this role the candidate will ensure the smooth daily activities of Data Operations team as well as custom reporting, escalation of issues to the proper teams, collaboration with internal analytical teams regarding the rating management process.

The candidate must have good communication and organizational skills, have high data quality standards in addition to being adept with SQL querying and creating reports.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the global team of data stewards, including dispatching incoming rating requests and setting up shifts and individual work assignments schedule.
  • Managing Jira dashboard, creating tickets and assigning team members.
  • Participating in Processing analytical rating requests especially in (but not limited to) high volume times.
  • Assisting data stewards processing analytical rating requests for complex scenarios.
  • Identifying gaps and modifying operational processes to improve efficiency.
  • Identifying the area of potential automation and replacement manual steps in processing.
  • Maintaining documentation, standard operation procedures and the rules around data collection, storage, and use in teams Confluence page.
  • To be able to synthesize information from various sources, including internal documents from the analysts’ work products.
  • To be able to analyze data records and support the quality of the database by analyzing records, evaluating data sources and implementing accurate updates following established processes.
  • Participate in multiple data management projects including data analysis, profiling and data quality.
  • Performing annual mid-year and end-year performance review for the team members.
  • Lead daily operational scrums and weekly meetings.
  • Mentor junior data stewards.

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Experience in financial markets, specifically fixed income, entity management and workflows process management.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivated to produce accurate, timely and complete work product.
  • Ability working under pressure in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and writing communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate persuasively and concisely with members of various seniority.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, MS Word).
  • Knowledge of Python is a plus.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in data operations and/or management.
  • Prior experience working in the credit ratings industry preferred.
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in finance or STEM related major.
  • Experience  leading a team of recent college graduates a plus.

Salary Range:

The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $140,000. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
