Data Engineer - Python / Spark

As a Data Engineer at Kunai, you’ll partner with a leading global banking client to develop, test, integrate, and enhance services leveraging massive amounts of marketing data to deliver actionable insights and personalized offers.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with our clients Marketing Data team to design and implement scalable solutions that support data insights and marketing strategies.
  • Build, test, and maintain data workflows, ensuring quality and performance in production environments.
  • Develop and enhance cloud-based services leveraging AWS tools like Glue, Redshift, DynamoDB, S3, RDS, Lambda, and Athena.
  • Use Python, Spark, and SQL to implement robust data pipelines and workflows.
  • Drive automation and integration processes with CI/CD practices to optimize deployment cycles.
  • Apply Agile methodologies to ensure efficient project delivery and team collaboration.
  • Present ideas clearly, contributing to team discussions and stakeholder meetings.

 

Your Skills Include:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data and software engineering, specializing in large-scale workflows and cloud-based solutions.
  • Expertise in Python, SQL, and CI/CD tools, with substantial experience in Spark.
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS required—Glue, S3, RDS, Lambda, Athena, Redshift and DynamoDB are a strong plus.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical ideas and solutions with clarity and confidence.
  • Thrives in a collaborative, hybrid work environment, with 2-3 days per week onsite at the clients offices in Northern Virginia.
  • Deep understanding of Agile principles, processes, and methodologies.
