Technical Product Owner - Martech

We are seeking a Product Owner to lead the development and ongoing management of a customer marketing segmentation product within Retail Bank Marketing Technology. While working with a leading banking client you will drive product strategy, manage the product backlog, and partner with software engineering teams to deliver solutions that enhance customer targeting and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the product backlog and status sheet, ensuring visibility of current epics, upcoming work, and long-term product roadmap.

  • Translate business objectives into clear requirements through Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), aligning them with marketing and technology goals.

  • Partner with software engineering teams to break down epics into Jira stories, ensuring requirements are actionable and delivery-focused.

  • Actively manage backlog refinement—adding, prioritizing, and grooming items both proactively (strategic needs) and reactively (ad hoc requests, production issues).

  • Oversee agile ceremonies with the engineering team, ensuring Jira epics and stories remain aligned with requirements and delivery milestones.

  • Monitor and support product delivery, including tracking completion in Jira and addressing production issues as needed.

  • Provide ad hoc support for leadership reporting, including preparing status updates, slide content, and discussions related to product strategy and progress.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years experience as a Product Owner in marketing technology, financial services, or banking.

  • Strong background in marketing technology platforms.

  • Hands-on experience with Agile delivery practices, backlog management, and Jira.

  • Ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working cross-functionally with engineering, business stakeholders, and leadership teams.

 

This is a hybrid role with 3 days onsite in NYC or Wilmington, DE.
