Senior iOS Engineer

Note: This role is Hybrid in Toronto, CA, requiring 2-3 days in office.

Kunai is hiring a senior iOS engineer to join a modernization effort for our client’s core customer-facing service application. This client is a major leader in the financial industry, whose apps impact millions of users globally. In this team, you will own the full delivery lifecycle—from architecture and design through DevOps, testing, and production implementation—using the Client’s modern open-source technology stack. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance features for our client’s Mobile App, ensuring a seamless and secure experience for card customers managing their accounts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including backend engineers, designers, and product managers—to improve existing functionality.
  • Integrate the Mobile App with backend services that support financial decisioning, personalization, and credit management for cardholders.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code following best practices in architecture, performance, and security.
  • Take ownership of the full development lifecycle, including testing and production implementation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through code reviews, mentoring, and collaboration within a high-performing engineering team.



Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in iOS development building production-grade applications.
  • 3+ years of experience with Swift and/or SwiftUI.
  • 3+ years of experience working with open-source frameworks and libraries within iOS ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVC) and RESTful API integration.
  • Experience in testing, CI/CD, and automation in mobile development environments.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid setup (2–3 days per week in Toronto office).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to deliver in a collaborative, agile environment.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Experience developing for Android platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of financial or credit-based systems, or experience in large-scale consumer applications.


 

Compensation: 

$150,000-175,000 CAD. This is a full time, salaried role with benefits. Current authorization to work in Canada is required.

Minimum Degree Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, in lieu of a degree, demonstrating in addition to the minimum years of experience required for the role, three years of specialized training and/or progressively responsible work experience in technology for each missing year of college is required
