ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Join us as we embark on an exciting journey in transforming the treatment landscape of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). We are searching for a Director / Senior Director, KOMZIFTI (ziftomenib) Marketing, to report directly to the Executive Director of Marketing. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of HCP and Consumer marketing and will aid value and access pull through to support the recent approval of KOMZIFTI in relapsed / refractory (R/R) NPM1-m AML.

This role requires strong leadership to strategically drive and cross-functionally integrate across internal and external teams.  The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in oncology / hematology marketing, insight-driven planning, and operational excellence. This is a high-visibility role with regular engagement across senior leadership, key decision-makers, and sales, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the success of KOMZIFTI and the lives of patients with R/R NPM1-m AML.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Brand Management

  • Develop and execute annual tactical plans. 
  • Distill market research findings and sales trends into insights that direct promotional efforts.
  • Coordinate with the market insights team to set future direction for insight generation.
  • Manage promotional budget.

Brand Management

  • Monitor product performance and propose promotional adjustments based on market dynamics.
  • Cultivate relationships with thought leaders, key customers, and professional organizations.

Marketing Execution

  • Develop promotional materials, campaign optimizations, and digital marketing initiatives in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Execute multichannel marketing (digital, field force, print, CRM) for HCPs, patients, and value and access stakeholders
  • Manage key vendor relationships, including the promotional agency of record and media planner

Sales Enablement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Closely collaborate with key functional partners (e.g., Sales, Sales Training, Regional Marketing, Alliance partners, Medical Affairs, Value & Access, Advocacy, Legal/Compliance and Corporate Communications) to drive alignment on strategy, key messages, and tactical execution.
  • Ensure key brand messages and materials are effectively communicated at sales meetings
  • Collaborate with the sales team and sales training to create / optimize training materials and selling tools.
  • Work closely with Medical Affairs to ensure scientific accuracy of marketing content.
  • Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs for promotional approvals and compliance.

Performance Management

  • In collaboration with insights team, establish, integrate and track KPIs, performance metrics, and ROI for marketing activities.

Compliance & Governance

  • Act as the marketing lead for MLR
  • Ensure all marketing activities comply with local regulatory guidelines, industry codes (e.g., EFPIA, FDA, EMA), and company policies.
  • Maintain high ethical standards in external interactions.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, advanced degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in marketing at a biotech / pharmaceutical company in the oncology or hematology space. 
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing fully integrated marketing strategies for HCPs (personal and digital) and patients.
  • Must have the ability to effectively collaborate with, motivate and influence various levels/grades within the organization and outside of the organization. 
  • Strong understanding of external stakeholder environment.  
  • Knowledge of marketing, strategic, planning, training, and market access 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams. 
  • Passion for improving the lives of patients and caregivers affected by oncology and hematology conditions. Ability to travel up to 20% of the time; domestic and limited international 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Sales experience is a plus
  • Product launch experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable navigating complex and ambiguous environments
  • Experience with value and access integration
  • Alliance partnership experience beneficial

The base range for this role at the Director level is $224,000 - $260,000 and Senior Director level is $268,000 - $295,000 per year. Individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including, and without limitation, job-related skills, experience, work location, and relevant education or training. Kura's compensation package also includes generous benefits, equity, and participation in an annual target bonus.

Kura Oncology is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to realizing the promise of precision medicines for the treatment of cancer. The Company’s pipeline consists of small molecule drug candidates designed to target cancer signaling pathways. Ziftomenib, a once-daily, oral menin inhibitor, is the first and only investigational therapy to receive Breakthrough Therapy Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) for the treatment of relapsed/refractory (“R/R”) NPM1-mutant acute myeloid leukemia (“AML”). In November 2024, Kura Oncology entered into a global strategic collaboration agreement with Kyowa Kirin Co., Ltd. to develop and commercialize ziftomenib for AML and other hematologic malignancies. Kura Oncology and Kyowa Kirin are also conducting a series of clinical trials to evaluate ziftomenib in combination with current standards of care in newly diagnosed and R/R NPM1-mutant and KMT2A-rearranged AML. KO-2806, a next-generation farnesyl transferase inhibitor, is being evaluated in a Phase 1 dose-escalation trial as a monotherapy and in combination with targeted therapies for patients with various solid tumors. Tipifarnib, a potent and selective farnesyl transferase inhibitor, is currently in a Phase 1/2 trial in combination with alpelisib for patients with PIK3CA-dependent head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
