Inventory Specialist
Overview:
An Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing finished stock levels in trunk stock and at the third-party logistics provider, ensuring product availability, and assisting with customer inquiries. Additionally, this role provides backend support to Account Service Representatives by supporting inventory data and issue resolution. The specialist also acts as a first-level support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP, facilitates quarterly business reviews with the third-party logistics provider, and implements KPI dashboards to track inventory and 3PL performance. This position requires coordination with sales teams, distributors, warehouse staff, and customers to maintain an accurate and efficient inventory system while supporting account management operations. This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of Alpharetta, GA.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Stock Control: Track, monitor, and update inventory records to ensure accurate trunk stock levels in the field.
- Cycle Counting: Conduct regular cycle counts on trunk stock at distributors to verify stock accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
- Customer Support: Assist customers with inventory-related inquiries, such as stock availability, order status, and product replacements.
- Order Processing: Coordinate incoming and outgoing inventory, ensuring timely fulfillment of customer orders in close collaboration with the 3rd party logistics provider.
- Data Entry & Reporting: Maintain inventory databases, generate reports, and analyze stock trends to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Problem-Solving: Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, shipping errors, and damaged goods issues.
- Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure inventory records comply with company policies and industry standards.
- Reporting & Documentation: Generate inventory and account-related reports to support Account Service Representatives in customer interactions.
3rd Party Logistics & Business Reviews:
- Stock Control: Track, monitor, and update inventory records to ensure accurate stock levels at GMLx.
- Logistics Provider Coordination: Work closely with the 3rd party logistics provider to monitor and optimize inventory distribution and logistics efficiency.
- Quarterly Business Reviews: Support the facilitation of quarterly business reviews with 3rd party logistics provider, analyzing performance metrics, identifying improvement areas, and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Performance & Compliance Monitoring: Track key logistics KPIs, ensuring compliance with company standards and 3PL agreements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost savings within the logistics network.
ERP & Systems Support:
- ERP First-Level Support: Act as the first level of support for Microsoft Dynamics 365, assisting users with basic troubleshooting, data entry issues, and system navigation.
- ERP Issue Resolution: Identify and escalate system-related issues to IT or ERP administrators as needed.
- Training & Guidance: Provide guidance to internal users on ERP best practices and assist with minor system-related inquiries.
- System Data Accuracy: Ensure correct data entry into Dynamics 365 to maintain accurate inventory and account records.
KPI Dashboard Implementation & Performance Monitoring:
- KPI Development & Tracking: Design, implement, and maintain KPI dashboards to monitor inventory performance and 3rd party logistics provider (3PL) efficiency.
- Data Visualization & Reporting: Create real-time dashboards to provide insights into inventory accuracy, stock turnover, fulfillment rates, and shipping performance.
- Performance Analysis: Regularly analyze KPI data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement in inventory management and logistics operations.
- Continuous Optimization: Work with stakeholders to enhance dashboard metrics, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
- Experience:
- 2+ years in inventory management, supply chain, or customer service.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in ERP (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365), Office Suite (incl. Excel), and data visualization tools.
- Experience with cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and order processing.
- Ability to support Account Service Representatives with account-related tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in 3PL logistics coordination and performance reviews.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Experience in KPI dashboard creation and performance tracking.
- Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools for KPI dashboard implementation.
Travel Requirement:
- Ability to travel domestic and international
Pay Range
$70,000 - $75,000 USD
