Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional Junior Project Manager - Technical Analyst, with a professional understanding of the Defense Health Agency’s TRICARE Health Plan, to join our team and provide invaluable support to the DHA Health Care Operations division. The Junior Project Manager-Functional Analyst will support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Health Care Operations (HCO) Division in assisting with the day-to-day management of the TRICARE Health Plan (THP). This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to develop skills in data analytics, performance reporting, system integration, and project coordination within a dynamic healthcare environment. The Junior PM - Technical Analyst will support senior staff in ensuring the efficient functioning of healthcare operations by assisting with technical and analytical tasks, reporting, and providing general support to TRICARE operations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Project Support & Coordination:
- Assist with the management of projects related to TRICARE Health Plan operations.
- Help track project timelines, resources, and progress, ensuring all deliverables are on schedule.
- Provide administrative support in project meetings, including preparing materials, taking notes, and tracking action items.
Reporting and Analytics:
- Assist in gathering and analyzing data related to TRICARE Health Plan performance metrics.
- Help generate basic reports using tools like Excel, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Support the creation of data visualizations and charts to present key findings to senior team members.
Performance Measurement and Analysis:
- Support performance measurement efforts by helping to track key metrics (e.g., patient satisfaction, cost efficiency, quality of care).
- Work with senior analysts to ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports.
- Assist in evaluating health plan performance and identifying areas for improvement.
System Integration & Technical Support:
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify business and operational challenges, and develop actionable solutions to improve TRICARE Health Plan efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead the development and management of processes for integrating new TRICARE Health Plan programs and services into existing DHA operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support project management initiatives, from problem identification and solution development to implementation and evaluation, ensuring that TRICARE Health Plan operations meet DHA's objectives.
Executive Communication & Reporting Assistance:
- Help draft and proofread internal communications and reports for executive review.
- Assist in preparing briefings and status updates for senior leadership, ensuring the information is clear and well-organized.
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and track progress on action items.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with more senior staff and internal teams to support various TRICARE Health Plan initiatives.
- Provide assistance to health plan operations and customer support teams by gathering and reporting on performance data.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and assist with project coordination and task tracking
Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure all communications, reports, and solutions comply with DHA policies, federal regulations, and industry standards, with a focus on TRICARE regulations.
- Maintain thorough documentation for all performance measurement frameworks, program reports, and operational processes, ensuring accessibility for future reference and audits.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, data analytics, or a related field
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative, analytical, or support role, ideally within healthcare or government sectors.
- Familiarity with TRICARE Health Plan operations, or interest in learning about military healthcare systems, is a plus.
- Basic proficiency in data analysis using tools like Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Motivated, proactive, and eager to learn and grow within the healthcare operations field.
- Ability to work well in a team environment while also being capable of handling individual responsibilities.
- Interest in healthcare data analytics, performance measurement, and project management.
