Scientific Director, Immunology

Summary of Job:
The Scientific Director, will support the Global MA Product Head in the planning and execution of Global Medical Affairs activities for rocatinlimab in building and facilitating highly effective collaborations and alignment with alliance partner as well as regional and country medical leadership and other key cross-functional stakeholders. co-creating and executing the global medical publications and communication plans for rocatinlimab, including congress planning, supporting the development and execution of the annual Medical Strategy Document and the Evidence Generation Plan, relevant global training on product and disease evidence and management, and development of global medical information materials to ensure industry-leading global medical affairs capabilities. This position will provide leadership to support additional global medical functional activities, including global advisory meetings, global medical internal meetings and global medical studies and evidence generation, in collaboration with the Global MA Product Head.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate closely with Amgen medical affairs professionals according to the co-licensing agreement
- Serve as product and disease subject matter expert and support rocatinlimab scientific publications, medical communications, medical information materials, and evidence generation strategy
- Support the Product Head in the development of the Global Medical Affairs Strategy Document for rocatinlimab
- Serve as Lead for the effective and appropriate execution of the overarching joint global publications and communications plans for rocatinlimab
- Serve as lead medical reviewer on global scientific communications co-created with Amgen global medical affairs
- Serve as owner of Kyowa Kirin scientific communications libraries for rocatinlimab materials and ensure documents are shared with regions accordingly
- Support training of regional medical teams (US, Japan, and any additional markets opted in by Kyowa Kirin) and other internal stakeholders as needed
- Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets for global program tactics
- Facilitate best practice sharing between global and countries. Build professional working relationships with Global, Region and key markets
- Work effectively within the established corporate and industry compliance guidelines
Job Requirements:
Education
Advanced degree in a scientific discipline (M.D., PhD, or PharmD). Specialization in Immunology or a related field strongly preferred
Experience
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry or equivalent Immunology related experience
- Immunology experience is preferred (Dermatology, Respiratory, Rheumatology, and/or Gastroenterology)
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively and cross-functionally with medical, global brand teams, market research, sales, managed markets, sales operations, business development, regulatory, research & development, manufacturing, finance and legal
Technical Skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Strategic thinking with demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across matrix environments.
- Deep understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and environment, as well as applicable industry guidelines and requirements for compliance.
- Analytic and synthetic capacity with the ability to understand and simplify
Non-Technical Skills
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions, and change course of action quickly. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong work ethic is required. Physical Demands: Normal office environment with prolonged sitting and extensive computer work
Working Conditions: Requires up to 30% domestic and international travel
The anticipated salary for this position will be $219,200 to $286,600. The actual salary offered for this role at commencement of employment may vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, education (including applicable licenses and certifications, job-based knowledge, location, and other business and organizational needs.
