IT Healthcare Systems and Services Intern (Summer 2026)
Kyowa Kirin is a fast-growing global specialty pharmaceutical company that applies state-of-the-art biotechnologies to discover and deliver novel medicines in four disease areas: bone and mineral; intractable hematologic; hematology oncology; and rare disease. In North America, we are headquartered in Princeton, NJ, with offices in California, North Carolina, and Mississauga, Ontario.
We are looking for talented, highly motivated university students for our ICT team to help with Clinical and Development Operations IT projects at Kyowa Kirin North America (KKNA). Our future talent will be coming in as programmer analyst and reports developer and have opportunities to engage with adjacent teams as a systems analyst, AI/Agentic engineer/developer and Project/Program Management. You will wear many hats as you jump in a fast-paced environment and produce results in various ICT areas such as SDLC, Project Delivery, Customer Service, ICT Business Partners, and Project/Program Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, setup, maintenance/scheduled updates, and troubleshooting of ICT project requests and/or issues.
- Help investigate and identify the root cause of technical problems and support the implementation of solutions to maintain system stability and availability.
- Identify ways to automate or streamline repetitive tasks or preventative maintenance checks.
- Review, create and update documentation for systems design, configuration, and best practices. Assist in GxP/SDLC related documentation and testing activities.
- Prepare and present project updates to the IT team and stakeholders.
- Develop user guides and how to videos to help end users utilize technology and applications.
- Prepare and execute test strategies and plans.
- Collaborate with IT team members, stakeholders, business users, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery. Some members may be in other locations/time zones/countries
- Learn about various IT technologies, cloud platforms (such as Azure and AWS), and operational processes, while collaborating effectively.
- Learn Global Development Operations (GDO) systems, including Clinical Business Intelligence Solution (CBIS), Development DWH, LSAT, Planisware, Intrinsic and DDWorks CTMS.
- Effectively communicate through Microsoft 365 suite such as OneDrive, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- This position requires candidates to be a rising junior or rising senior in college/university with a major that aligns with the department: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or life sciences field.
- Previous internship and/or project experience, volunteerism, leadership in clubs or societies, and participation in student athletics.
- Understanding or knowledge of SQL, Python, .NET, MS Azure, PowerBI (or any reporting/analytics tool), and Copilot are preferred.
- Understanding of the Agile Framework and SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) is preferred.
- Interns are required to be able to work from May 26th 2026 through August 13th, 2026
- The ability to work a hybrid schedule is required.
- 1+ years leading or working in a team environment.
- Must have good intercommunication and interpersonal skills, as well as a positive and fun attitude.
- Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Candidates must live within a commutable distance to Princeton, NJ.
- This position requires that candidates be able to work in the United States on a permanent and ongoing basis without sponsorship.
The anticipated hourly rate for this position will be $23.00 to $25.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate offered for this role at commencement of employment may vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, education (including applicable licenses and certifications, job-based knowledge, location, and other business and organizational needs.
