Procurement Intern (Summer 2026)
Kyowa Kirin is a fast-growing global specialty pharmaceutical company that applies state-of-the-art biotechnologies to discover and deliver novel medicines in four disease areas: bone and mineral; intractable hematologic; hematology oncology; and rare disease. As a Procurement Summer Intern, you will gain valuable exposure to Kyowa Kirin’s global procurement function. Through this internship, you will have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that contribute to the company’s procurement strategy, preparing you for an entry-level role in procurement. You'll gain end-to-end experience in the Source-to-Pay process, from analyzing spending to executing a full RFP. You will also engage with internal stakeholders and external vendors, negotiate contracts, and present project results to the team.
To support your growth and learning, you will be assigned a dedicated mentor who will guide you through each step of the process, ensuring you gain comprehensive experience in the procurement field.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Procurement Summer Intern, you will be involved in various impactful activities designed to develop your professional skills and understanding of procurement, including:
- Starting with an introduction to vendor risk management, new vendor onboarding, and the fundamentals of the procure-to-pay process.
- Conducting spend analysis to help prioritize opportunities for business consolidation and value creation.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to define project scope and procurement requirements.
- Leading a strategic sourcing project, including the execution of an RFP (Request for Proposal).
- Utilizing procurement tools such as competitive intelligence and benchmarking to support sourcing decisions.
- Engaging and negotiating with external vendors to ensure the best value for the organization.
- Presenting award recommendations to internal stakeholders and contributing to final decision-making.
- Participating in the contracting process, from vendor notification to final agreement execution.
- Presenting final project outcomes and results to the procurement team and other relevant stakeholders.
- Working closely with a mentor to gain insights and guidance throughout the Source-to-Pay process.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Data Analytics, Procurement, Finance, or a related field.
- Rising junior or senior status preferred.
- Interns are required to be able to work from May 26th, 2026 through August 13th, 2026
- Candidates are required to live within a commutable distance of Princeton, NJ.
- This position requires that candidates be able to work in the United States on a permanent and on-going basis.
- Exposure to supply chain management, procurement, or finance through coursework, internships, or projects.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
- Strong communication skills are a plus, including the ability to present ideas clearly to internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous exposure to public speaking or presentation courses is a plus.
- Availability to work in person at least two days per week at our Princeton, NJ office, with flexibility for additional in-person meetings as needed.

The anticipated hourly rate for this position will be $21.00 to $24.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate offered for this role at commencement of employment may vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, education (including applicable licenses and certifications, job-based knowledge, location, and other business and organizational needs.
