Senior Compensation Analyst
Kyowa Kirin is a fast-growing global specialty pharmaceutical company that applies state-of-the-art biotechnologies to discover and deliver novel medicines in four disease areas: bone and mineral; intractable hematologic; hematology oncology; and rare disease. The Senior Compensation Analyst is a key member of the Total Rewards team responsible for designing, administering, and analyzing compensation programs that support the company’s pay philosophy and talent strategy. This role manages core compensation processes—including offer reviews, job evaluations, salary structures, annual compensation planning, promotions, long‑term incentives (LTI), survey participation, and recurring program administration.
In addition, this role will support the company’s employee-level cost budgeting process, which includes modeling and budgeting total employee cost components such as base salary, bonuses, benefits, payroll taxes, retirement contributions, and LTI. This position requires strong analytical and financial acumen.
Key Responsibilities:
Compensation Program Administration
• Conduct offer reviews and provide recommendations to Total Talent (Talent Acquisition) and HR Business Partners, ensuring internal equity, market competitiveness, and adherence to compensation guidelines.
• Manage the semi-annual promotion process, including job evaluations, market pricing, and internal leveling/grade assignments.
• Maintain and update salary structures, job families, career levels, and compensation frameworks.
• Lead end to end Annual Compensation Planning (merit, bonus, LTI), including planning, system configuration, communications, and training for compensation planners. Partner with HRIS to ensure accurate processing of increases and bonus payouts.
• Oversee Long Term Incentive programs, including award grants, communications, and accrual management.
• Participate in and analyze external compensation surveys to ensure competitive pay positioning; Benchmark roles across the organization, conduct job evaluations, and analyze market pay information.
• Support preparation of compensation materials for Board of Directors meetings.
• Serve as Super User of the company’s recognition system, reviewing special requests, quarterly award nominations, and related inquiries.
• Develop and deliver employee and manager communications and training on compensation programs.
Analytics & Reporting
• Develop compensation analyses, dashboards, and reports to support HR and business leaders.
• Conduct internal pay equity analyses, pay compression reviews, and recommend actions where appropriate.
• Prepare compensation insights for HR leadership, including trends, forecasts, and program effectiveness metrics.
Employee Cost Budgeting
• Partner with Finance and HR to support employee level cost budgeting.
• Build and maintain detailed cost models incorporating base salary, bonus targets, payroll taxes, health & welfare benefits, retirement contributions, and LTI.
• Support headcount planning and modeling for new hires, promotions, transfers, and organizational changes.
• Upload and maintain budget data in Tagetik, the company’s budgeting platform.
Policy, Governance & Systems
• Develop and maintain compensation policies, guidelines, and documentation.
• Partner with HRIS and Finance teams to streamline workflows and ensure accurate system functionality for compensation processes.
• Support audits, compliance reviews, accruals, and year end compensation reporting.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, HR, Economics, or related field; CCP or progress toward CCP preferred.
- 3–7+ years of experience in compensation analysis, compensation program administration, or equivalent analytical role.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite. Advanced Excel skills, including modeling and complex formulas. Experience with compensation systems (e.g., SuccessFactors or similar).
- Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to handle confidential information with the highest degree of integrity. Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with HR, Total Talent, and Finance.
The anticipated salary for this position will be $100,000 to $131,000 The actual salary offered for this role at commencement of employment may vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, education (including applicable licenses and certifications, job-based knowledge, location, and other business and organizational needs.
