Associate, Program Management (Venue Infrastructure)
The Venues and Infrastructure (VNI) team plays a critical role in delivering competition and non-competition venues that are functional, innovative, and fully accessible for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As part of the larger Sport and Games Delivery group, the VNI team ensures that all venues are designed, developed, and delivered with the highest standards for functionality, sustainability, and inclusion within time and budget limits.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Program Management, the Associate, Program Management will assist in various program management activities, including but not limited to reporting, risk, permitting, scheduling, cost, and procurement. Examples of work may include preparing integrated schedules, tracking change logs, monitoring issues and risk registers, validating cost estimates, and preparing procurement packages. This role will require deep integration across the entire VNI team (Development & Delivery, Program Management and Engineering) and collaboration with Finance, Sport, City, Event Management, and Planning functional areas, as well as partners and suppliers.
The successful candidate will have a high attention to detail and organization, project management interest and experience in event and infrastructure delivery, and delivery mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management (Reporting Function)
- Collaborate with internal functional areas (FAs) to support VNI activities
- Support integration of VNI sub teams (Development & Delivery, Program Management, Engineering) into overall LA28 organization
- Track costs and schedules for venue development, permitting, and delivery
- Maintain risk registers, permit catalogs, change logs, and/or issue trackers
- Facilitate meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare and maintain dashboards and reports for infrastructure program management
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are achieved.
Reporting & Data Analysis
- Collect, analyze, and validate project performance data (cost, schedule, scope, risk, and quality metrics).
- Develop and maintain standardized reports and dashboards (e.g., weekly, monthly, executive summaries).
- Support data visualization and trend analysis for project performance and decision-making.
- Coordinate input from multiple teams to ensure data consistency, completeness, and accuracy.
Assurance & Audit
- Support internal assurance reviews to assess project compliance with governance, process, and documentation standards.
- Assist in prepare venues for audit readiness, ensuring documentation, approvals, and evidence are in order.
- Conduct spot checks and audits of key project management processes (change control, procurement, risk, reporting).
- Track and monitor corrective actions from assurance findings or audit reports. Liaise with internal and external auditors, ensuring transparency and timely resolution of issues.
Background & Qualifications:
- Minimum3+ years of relevant industry experience
- Familiarity with sports, event management, and/or infrastructure construction
- Experience collaboration and office software, including SharePoint, Smartsheet, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience working in unique team of full-time employees, contractors, and secondees
- Attention to detail and organization
- Project management experience
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office
- The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
- The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
- Site visits requiring movement around varying environmental conditions in interior and exterior spaces
Position Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Project management certificates a plus
Expectations:
- Commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision making
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Interest in developing project management skills in infrastructure and event delivery
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build cross-functional relationships.
- Occasional travel to venue sites
- Flexibility in working schedule is essential, with availability during peak delivery or event phases.

The annual base salary range for this position is $69,000.00 - $75,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
