The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles’ third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. This presents the unique and exciting opportunity to celebrate our legacy with the Games and push the Olympic and Paralympic Movements forward, writing a new chapter of Games history in Los Angeles.

Associate - Brand Design Milestones
The Brand Design team at LA28 is responsible for shaping and maintaining the visual identity of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Our work defines how the Games are seen and remembered through a variable emblem system, typography, color palette, imagery, patterns, and more, creating a brand experience that is bold, distinctive, and timeless.
In addition to stewarding the visual identity, the Brand Design team leads the development of key Games Milestones: the designs that bring the Games to life on the world stage. From medals, torches, mascots, podiums, and venue signage to logos, pictograms, and core graphic systems, our work ensures that the look and feel of the Games is consistent and innovative.
We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Associate Brand Designer to support these milestone projects. This role is designed to challenge and stretch the right candidate, offering the opportunity to contribute to some of the most visible and celebrated elements of the Games.
The ideal candidate is a multi-skilled, agile designer who can work across mediums with creativity and precision. They will bring strong design fundamentals, thoughtful problem-solving, and the ability to adapt quickly to evolving priorities. Beyond craft, they should be highly organized, proactive, and collaborative, with excellent communication skills to work effectively across teams.
This role reports to the Sr Manager Brand Design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contributing to the design and development of milestone projects
- Supporting the execution of the LA28 visual identity across a wide range of applications and formats
- Collaborating closely with the Sr. Manager of Brand Design, the broader Brand Design team, and cross-functional partners across Marketing and the organization
- Bringing creative energy and fresh ideas while maintaining alignment with brand standards
- Determining voice and messaging for key games design deliverables
- Developing illustrations, logos, and other graphics
- Advising on best practices and optimizations throughout design projects
- Implementing feedback and changes when appropriate
- QA designs for errors
- Pulling together elements that bring ideas and presentations to life: helping to prepare materials, presentations, mood boards, layouts, and content
- Collaborating with internal teams who will guide your work and invest in your growth and development as a designer, from art direction and research to iterating and production
- Conveying ideas, concepts, and thinking with clarity
- Actively inspiring and contributing to our brand culture
Background & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of in-house or agency experience
- Strong logo design experience and example work
- Strong layout and typography experience
- Experience producing printed and digital deliverables
- Time management, organizational skills, and strong attention to detail
- File and asset management skills

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Ability to work on-site in an open office environment, based in Los Angeles, CA
- The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment
- Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, design or a related field (preferred) or equivalent working experience
Expectations:
- Strong design portfolio with well-presented current work that showcases your understanding of visual design through a marketing lens
- Unique examples of conceptual thinking in storytelling, illustration and design
- Demonstrated ability to integrate design elements into a larger idea
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently with equal strength
- Exceptional creativity and innovation
- Strong illustration technique and skills
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, PPT, Figma and an interest in up-and-coming design tools

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $75,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
