The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Senior Manager, Look & Signage LNS Operations & PMO

The Senior Manager, Look & Signage LNS Operations & PMO plays a critical role in overseeing the strategic coordination, scheduling, and execution of projects within the Look and Signage (LNS) department.   

This position ensures efficient management of contractor tender processes, accreditation, travel logistics, venue coordination, and business planning while maintaining alignment with the broader PMO function.  A key part of this role will be contractor management.    

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in high-level project management, stakeholder coordination, and large-scale event planning, with strong organizational and leadership skills. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring all operational functions are executed smoothly within the Look and Signage framework. 

Key Responsibilities:

Staff Oversight & Team Coordination 

  • Hire and manage staff responsible for scheduling, accreditation, travel, and venue coordination logistics within LNS
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure efficient workflow and execution across all central planning functions
  • Oversee folder structure and data management within the LNS function
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and professional growth among team members 

Contractor Management & Process Compliance 

  • Act as the main point of logistical contact for contractors, ensuring clear communication and procedural adherence
  • Oversee contractor scheduling and logistics, ensuring alignment with established timelines and venue requirements
  • Ensure contractors follow all required LNS requirements and processes, including:
    • Development of risk assessments and method statements for look and signage installations
    • Provision of necessary certifications and permits to comply with venue and regulatory requirements
    • Set up of an appropriate warehouse and logistics strategy to support look and signage distribution
    • Understanding and execution of accreditation processes, including applications for team and vehicle passes 

Project Oversight & Strategic Coordination 

  • Actively consult on the contractor tender process, ensuring seamless procurement and onboarding for Look and Signage contractors
  • Identify leading partner agencies to support the scoping and application of Look of the Games
  • Manage department-wide scheduling and central planning, ensuring alignment with key deadlines in venue look and signage delivery
  • Maintain strong collaboration with the PMO department, ensuring integration of LNS functions within the broader operational framework 

Business Planning & Budget Management 

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the Functional Area Strategic Plan for Look and Signage
  • Ensure business planning aligns with budget constraints and operational needs for signage production, installation, and venue branding
  • Track project progress to prevent financial missteps and ensure timely resource allocation 

Operational Leadership & Risk Mitigation 

  • Identify and proactively mitigate risks related to look and signage installations, venue logistics, and stakeholder expectations
  • Ensure compliance with venue coordination, contractor logistics, and signage execution requirements
  • Streamline processes to improve efficiency and eliminate unnecessary obstacles impacting signage delivery

Background & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in project management, central planning, or PMO-related roles within large-scale events.
  • Expertise in contractor oversight, scheduling, accreditation, and logistics
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams and external stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities 
  • The ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent priorities
  • Experience in budget management, tender processes, and regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated record of on-time and on-budget delivery of major projects 
  • Experience building and nurturing a diverse team 
  • Experience leading partner agencies and vendors through scoping and delivery 
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work across all functions and at all levels of the organization, including outside partners, venue owners/representatives, and suppliers
  • Excellent organization, time management, administrative, and computer skills

Position Requirements:

  • Candidates should expect a 4-5-day workweek, primarily based in the LA28 Los Angeles office  
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer are required 
  • May involve standing and walking at events or venues  
  • Ability to lift and carry light materials (such as marketing collateral) as needed   
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary, particularly leading up to key campaigns and milestone events 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, logistics, operations or a related field.

The annual base salary range for this position is $115,000.00 - $130,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
