The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Senior Manager, Vehicle Fleet Operations:

The Senior Manager, Fleet Operations, will lead and support efforts to refine, deliver, and operate the stakeholder vehicle fleet operation, providing a variety of fleet functions and services, including allocated vehicles, TX and rate card services. The role requires complex collaboration across LA28’s functional areas and external partners while maintaining credibility and ensuring key milestones are met.  The Senior Manager, Fleet Operations will report directly to the Director, Vehicle Fleet Operations, while working closely with staff across Functional Areas. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with the Director, Vehicle Fleet Operations, develop and prepare the readiness and delivery of LA28 Stakeholder Vehicle Fleet operations. 
  • In coordination with the relevant LA28stakeholders, manage and support the demand analysis and vehicle fleet requirements estimations for the Games Vehicle systems.  
  • Lead the planning of delivery, commissioning, deployment, and decommissioning of all Games Vehicle Fleet systems, in coordination with commercial partners. 
  • Prepare the Depot Operational Plans and contribute to the preparation of the Fleet Operation Plan and Fleet Operations Service Level Plans. 
  • In coordination with the Director, Vehicle Fleet Operations, prepare documentation of Games Vehicle Fleet systems to meet applicable International Olympic Committee milestones. 
  • In coordination with the LA28 Technology stakeholders support the development and design of applications required to deliver operations. 
  • Support the expansion of the Vehicle Fleet team to support Games delivery.  
  • Coordinates with LA28 stakeholder teams to ensure seamless service delivery aligned with operational requirements. 
  • Integrate commercial partners into the Fleet Operations delivery plan. 
  • Lead the development of policies and procedures for fleet operations including vehicle delivery, commissioning, deployment and decommissioning. 
  • Oversee and contribute to the training of staff and contractors, if applicable, to ensure Stakeholder Fleet Operations are delivered according to the Plan. 
  • Content preparation (slides, handouts, etc.) and preparation of reports for the LA28-related management and working meetings. 
  • Prepare meeting materials, agendas, minutes, and presentation decks to support the development and refinement of transportation plans and systems. 
  • Conduct field reviews and participate in site testing and evaluations for specific components of Stakeholder Fleet Operations, plans, and systems. 

Background & Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • 7+ years of Transport or Vehicle Fleet operation experience within at least one mega project event, ideally more than one world class sport event (e.g., Olympic Games, Regional Football Tournaments). 
  • Experience in management including supervision, budget and financial development, and strategic planning. 
  • Experience establishing and managing fleet or bus depots. 
  • Experience in establishing fleet management systems and developing policies and procedures for fleet operations. 
  • A strong knowledge of conflict resolution and customer service. 
  • Strong business acumen with exceptional strategic thinking and project management skills. 
  • Aptitude for prioritizing and planning multi-stakeholder initiatives, providing direction when needed, empowering others, and removing obstacles to get work done. 
  • Ability to create effective relationships, influence, and collaborate at all organizational levels and across all partner groups. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to educate others on complex technical concepts, and to lead, facilitate, and present to large and small groups. 
  • Ability to gather and assess data and produce technical reports and/or slide decks. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions 

  • Ability to work on-site in an open office environment based in Los Angeles, CA(prior to operations) 
  • Occasional field activities will require walking and/or climbing stairs 
  • Some tasks may require participating in early morning meetings (e.g., 7:00am or earlier) and/or late afternoon meetings (e.g., 6:00pm or later). Occasionally this role will join other leaders in evening dinners and/or receptions. 

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, transportation, logistics, public administration is preferred but not required. 
  • Preference of 2-3 years of experience.Must possess a valid driver’s license

The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000.00-140,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
