Manager, Broadcast Services

The Broadcast Integration (BRS) Team’s aim is to support the Olympic Broadcasting Service (OBS) in the preparation and planning of the most seamless, innovative, and engaging Games experience ever for their athletes, team officials, and delegation members.

The BRS team is responsible for delivering high quality facilities and services to the Media Rights Holders and the Olympic Broadcasting Service to ensure the best possible media coverage of the Games to the widest possible audience. This team liaises closely with OBS to manage planning processes related to broadcasting the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This includes agreeing procedures, hosting meetings and workshops, conducting surveys – all of which are developed and established in full coordination with OBS and LA28 Broadcast Services. In addition, the Broadcast Services team is the main point of contact with the other LA28 functional areas concerning all broadcast matters. Such matters include the successful delivery of all infrastructure at competition venues and the International Broadcast Center to enable the coverage of the Games and the delivery of services to OBS and media rights holders to support their operations – such as accommodation, accreditation, transportation, information, technology, technical support, warehousing, permitting, medical services, and other services at Games time.

Reporting to the Director of Broadcast Services, the Manager, Broadcast Services will be responsible for liaising with the OBS and LA28 functional areas on all broadcast planning matters and ensuring that all requirements are met for the successful coverage of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. To progress planning, this role will collaborate across all internal departments, external stakeholders, partner entities, and consultants to enable and deliver all broadcast services in the lead up to the Games Period and throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Key Responsibilities:

OBS & Broadcast Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as a point of contact for all engagement with OBS and Media Rights Holders.
  • Coordinate communication and logistics for OBS Production and Planning site visits and venue surveys.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of the World Broadcaster Meetings and Briefings.
  • Manage the flow of information and timely submission of deliverables to OBS and media partners.
  • Ensure all broadcast delivery requirements are understood, tracked, and optimized across LA28 operations.
  • Support the visa process for OBS staff and Media Rights Holders in coordination with relevant LA28 functional areas.

Broadcast Services Planning & Integration

  • Oversee the planning and operational delivery of services to broadcasters, including accommodations, transportation, accreditation, and other Games-time needs.
  • Collaborate with key LA28 functional areas (e.g., Transportation, Accommodation, Government Relations, Accreditation, Language Services, and Press Operations) to integrate broadcast requirements into Games-wide planning.
  • Support infrastructure and technical planning related to broadcast spaces at competition venues, non-competition venues, and the International Broadcast Center (IBC).
  • Coordinate with delivery partners and venue teams to ensure broadcast-readiness.

 Broadcast Rights Management

  • Manage the development and execution of key legal agreements including the OBS & OCOG agreement, Broadcast Rights Agreements, and Broadcast Sales Agency Agreement (for Paralympic delivery).
  • Support the development of the Paralympic broadcast strategy and sales approach, including budget coordination and agency oversight.
  • Provide sales and operational support for Paralympic broadcast rights.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Strategic Alignment

  • Build strong relationships across internal LA28 teams and external stakeholders to ensure broadcast planning aligns with overall Games objectives.
  • Represent broadcast needs within cross-functional working groups, particularly related to ticketing, hospitality, and venue management.
  • Collaborate with OBS, IOC, and IPC to secure alignment, approvals, and ongoing support throughout the planning lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the development of coordination frameworks, procedures, and reporting structures to support service delivery excellence

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably with 9+ years of experience in broadcast production, management, coordination and operations for the sport or live event industry
  • Experience working international broadcast organizations providing global coverage
  • Experience working with a unique range of stakeholders and proven success at building excellent working relationships
  • Experience working across multiple functional areas

  • Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making Experience leading & implementing communication strategies that are accessible and inclusive to different audiences, including considerations for a variety of languages and accessibility for people with disabilities.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with minimal guidance
  • Strong leadership, team building, and communication skills
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to work independently to resolve issues
  • Proficient with Office suite products including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-starter with experience in defining tasks, seeking feedback, and evolving work where applicable

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Based in Los Angeles
  • Some travel may be required, both domestically and internationally
  • Working hours may vary to accommodate different time zones in specific regions.

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00 - $105,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
