Manager, Procurement Category Management:

The Procurement Category Manager will lead strategic sourcing activities for multiple categories. This role requires a skilled and experienced strategic sourcing expert with a background in conducting sourcing events across a variety of categories. The Procurement Category Manager will act as a strategic business partner to the business, supporting various functional area teams with their sourcing needs by analyzing the supply market, conducting competitive bid procedures and RFx events, and facilitating proposal evaluation and supplier selection. This position reports to the Director, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute strategic sourcing events/RFx efficiently and in line with the functional area procurement and operations timeline. Lead the execution of the end-to-end process from bidder identification through scoring and award recommendation, acting as the primary procurement business partner to the functional area lead/team. 
  • Develop negotiation strategies, as appropriate for the goods or services being sourced. Drive favorable terms and conditions into the contracting process and develop opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation through the sourcing and contracting processes. 
  • Work cross-functionally to incorporate requirements from enabling functional areas including finance, sustainability, risk, technology, and impact. 

Background & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing execution.  
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in conducting a variety of RFx and competitive bidding events. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead discussions across all areas of the organization.  
  • Excellent analytical and organizational abilities. 
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., Workday Financials, Workday Strategic Sourcing, Agiloft, Salesforce and Excel).

  • Ability to adapt to changing timelines and to be able to reprioritize based on evolving category needs. 
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills. 
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to develop, report on and improve the key performance indicators for the role

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience 
  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, MBA) is a plus. 

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • On-site role based in Los Angeles, California. (4-5 days per week). 
  • Must be willing to relocate to the Los Angeles, California area, if not local. 
  • Flexibility to work evenings and on weekends as needed.Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods. 
  • Work is conducted in an open office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment. 

 

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00 - $115,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
