Associate, Fleet Operations - Program Management:

 

The Associate, Fleet Operations – Program Management, supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of the Fleet Operations activities that contribute to operational readiness and Games-time delivery for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The role focuses on assisting with operational planning tasks, maintaining project documentation, and supporting coordination across fleet operations and workstreams.  

Working within the Transport Department and the Fleet Operations sub-function, the Associate this role collaborates with internal LA28 teams including Fleet Operations, Depot Operations, Technology, Workforce, Readiness, Venue Operations, Security, and Accreditation. The role also supports engagement with external operators, vendors, contractors, and public agencies as needed to implement fleet operational plans. 

The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support multiple operational tasks within defined projects. The AssociateFleet Operations – Program Management will contribute to the development of operational tools, materials, and documentation while supporting managers, and senior team members responsible for fleet readiness and delivery. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating Fleet Operations activities across planning, readiness, and operational delivery phases, helping track progress against defined milestones and timelines. 
  • Maintain fleet operations documentation, trackers, dashboards, and databases, ensuring information is accurate, organized, and accessible. 
  • Support collaboration across Fleet Operations teams and cross-functional partners by coordinating information and maintaining action logs.  
  • Prepare meeting materials, briefings, and operational summaries, including capturing notes, tracking actions, and supporting follow-up tasks. 
  • Assist with research, benchmarking, and basic operational analysis to support fleet planning and readiness activities 
  • Contribute to the development and organization of operational guidance materials, planning documents, and training resources used by the overall Fleet Operations team.  
  • Monitor assigned tasks and escalate potential risks, issues, or dependencies to managers as appropriate.  
  • Provide general coordination and logistical support for Fleet Operations projects and cross-functional working groups. 

 

Background & Requirements:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in transportation, mobility, logistics, event operations, public sector, planning, or similar fields 
  • Experience supporting project coordination activities involving multiple stakeholders or teams.  
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain documentation, trackers, and operational systems with strong attention to detail.  
  • Familiarity with basic project coordination tools, data tracking systems, or operational planning processes is advantageous. 
  • Experience with transportation operations, major event delivery, or public agency environments is preferred, but not required. 

 

Expectations:

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to support multiple fleet-related workstreams, maintain accurate project systems, and work with increasing autonomy. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to organize information and produce clear summaries or planning materials.  
  • Analytical and proactive, comfortable interpreting operational data, identifying gaps, proposing solutions, and escalating issues as appropriate.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Transportation Management, Transportation Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration/Management, etc.).  
  • Master’s degree may substitute for up to 1 years of experience at this level. 
  • Coursework or training in mobility, transportation planning, data analysis, or project management is beneficial. 

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • The position is located in Los Angeles with in-person attendance required. 
  • Frequent travel in Los Angeles between venues and other sites. Must be responsible for own travel. by any mode. 
  • The LA28 office is an open floor plan working environment. Employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.   
  • There will be a requirement for working hours outside of traditional business hours/days to support special events, travel, and the 2028 Games. 

 

The hourly rate for this position is $30.29 - $35.00 The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
