Manager, Data Specialist

LA28 is seeking a Data Specialist to join our Venue Infrastructure BIM team, supporting a dynamic, event-driven environment where flexibility, precision, and rapid problem-solving are essential. Unlike traditional design or engineering roles, this position focuses on orchestrating the digital ecosystem of venues, assets, and operational data. They will be responsible for leveraging Autodesk technologies, the common data environment, model data and asset integration into the orgs broader data strategy to facilitate data-driven decision-making throughout all stages of delivery of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games

This role requires a systems thinker who thrives in high-velocity, non-linear workflows. The right candidate will be well-experienced with the tools, and comfortable operating outside the boundaries of conventional project delivery, able to quickly contextualize new challenges, and deliver clear, actionable outcomes for a wide variety of stakeholders.

This role reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Digital Project Delivery.  It also contributes to the broader Venue Infrastructure team, a part of Sport & Games Delivery and will transition to an on-site venue support role at the time of the Games.

Key Responsibilities:

CDE Strategy & Governance:

  • Integrate workflows and protocols that align with existing execution plans.
  • Process data and various inputs to meet data requirement ensuring downstream usability for operations, sustainability reporting, and asset management.
  • Collaborate with BIM Specialist to ensure consistency across Revit, Civil 3D, Forma (ACC), and connected platforms.

Digital Twin & Asset Information Management:

  • Contribute to development and implementation of digital twin strategies, ensuring alignment with operational readiness, live event demands, and long-term asset stewardship.
  • Define and author data based on reality capture (LiDAR) and contribute to defining strategies for sharing with external partners, stakeholders and vendors.
  • Support early insights by linking BIM data with operational systems and metrics from multiple functional teams.

Event-Driven Project Delivery:

  • Rapidly adapt AEC data to reveal opportunities for accelerated timelines, evolving priorities, and live-event constraints.
  • Support BIM Specialist to Coordinate with internal stakeholders, consultants, and vendors to align deliverables with real-world readiness, not just design milestones.
  • Apply agile project management principles to digital deliverables, ensuring responsiveness and accountability.

Autodesk Tools & Technology Integration:

  • Integrate the use and advancement of Forma Data Management (Docs), Forma Build, Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, and Datum within the organization.
  • Evaluate and deploy complementary technologies for model validation, clash detection, visualization, and handover.
  • Lead initiatives in automation and data federation to minimize manual rework and maximize efficiency.

Stakeholder Communication & Support:  

  • Assist BIM Specialist to translate technical information into clear, outcome-focused language by ensuring data strategy achieves the desired outcome. 
  • Build trust with diverse stakeholders through proactive engagement, timely delivery, and transparent problem-solving. 
  • Develop a CDE UX suited for Non-AEC types.  

 

Background & Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Temporary Infrastructure, or Entertainment Design (Master’s preferred). 
  • 5+ years of experience in AEC Data management or digital delivery roles, with at least 2 years in an owner or client-facing capacity. 
  • Demonstrated experience with Autodesk ecosystem (Forma (ACC), Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Tandem) and related digital delivery tools. 
  • Proven track record in asset information management and/or digital twin deployment. 

Expectations:

  • Familiarity with agile project management frameworks in digital delivery. 
  • Experience embedding sustainability metrics into BIM and digital twin workflows, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory frameworks. 
  • Experience providing actionable insights on energy performance, carbon impact, and lifecycle optimization using model-based data. 
  • Exposure to IoT integration, smart building technologies, or live event operations.
  • Proficiency in Dynamo, Python, or other automation/scripting tools. 
  • Proficiency integrating SharePoint data and developing workflows for data exchange. 

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • The position is in Los Angeles with in-person attendance required.
  • Occasional Travel (up to 15%) - Site or Venue visits may be required to assess needs of Design, Construction Management or Deployment teams. This role with transition to venue support at time of Games.
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00 - $110,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
