The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

LA28, the organizers for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, is on a mission to create an unparalleled Games experience for athletes, fans, partners, our community and our people. The 2028 Olympics and Paralympics will represent LA and leverage the strength of our community’s diversity and creativity as we collectively work to design a Games that we all want to be a part of. We do this by focusing on people and by inviting everyone into the story of the LA28 Games.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Manager, Project Manager – Brand Milestones

LA28 is designing the future of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the Brand Design team is at the heart of that transformation. We are visionaries building the unexpected, grounded in the creative spirit of Los Angeles. As we create the most iconic assets of the Games, we’re looking for a Project Manager – Brand Milestones to help bring our boldest ideas to life. 

This role is critical to the success of our most high-impact projects—from early concept to final delivery. With a deep understanding of the creative process, this person will lead complex work across multiple timelines and teams, keeping momentum strong and the vision aligned. They’ll bring clarity to complexity, blending strategic foresight with hands-on problem-solving to keep projects focused, on time, and on track. 

As a key connector across internal teams, agency partners, and global stakeholders, they’ll bring structure to a fast-paced environment. With sharp communication and organizational instincts, they’ll clear roadblocks, manage shifting priorities, and ensure the team has what it needs to deliver truly exceptional work. 

Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight 

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and final delivery of creative projects across various mediums
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and resource plans 
  • Provide analytical budget oversight, identifying impacts related to time, scope, and level of effort to guide stakeholders and ensure on-budget project delivery 
  • Track and report on project statuses, deliverables, and dependencies in Smartsheet 
  • Proactively identify potential risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans 
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to monitor and manage cross-functional dependencies 
  • Coordinate internal and external project meetings and reviews, ensuring clear next steps for all team members 
  • Act as primary point of contact and source of truth for all stakeholder and partner communications regarding Brand Design Milestone projects  

Agency Management 

  • Partner with agency account managers to align on project deliverables, timelines, communication protocols, and progress tracking
  • Coordinate schedules for creative reviews, feedback cycles, and working sessions 
  • Draft simple to medium complexity project briefs and review associated scopes of work (SOWs) and manage contract intake process through Agiloft 
  • Submit and track vendor requisitions through Workday, maintaining accuracy and alignment on project budgets 
  • Oversee invoice tracking and submission timelines to ensure timely processing  

Organizational Reporting

  • Manage upkeep of Brand Design IOC/IPC Milestone statuses within org wide project management system 
  • Flag and update project Milestones in the Risk Register when delays may impact delivery dates  

Background & Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of experience in project management with an in-house creative team or agency
  • Deep understanding of creative workflows from concept to execution 
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including collaboration, diplomacy, and influence of both peers and leadership 
  • Ability to foster trusting relationships with teammates, stakeholders, and partners 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, able to clearly and concisely convey information across audiences with varying levels of experience working within the creative sphere 
  • Proficient in Smartsheet or similar project management tools (Asana, Wrike, Notion, Workfront) 
  • A passion for design, culture, and the power of creative storytelling at a global scale

Position Requirements:

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions  

  • Candidates should expect a 4-5-day workweek, primarily based in the LA28 Los Angeles office
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer are required 
  • May involve standing and walking at events, activations, or production shoots 
  • Ability to lift and carry light materials (such as marketing collateral) as needed for events 
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary, particularly leading up to key campaigns and milestone events

The annual base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $105,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
