The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

VP, Head of IT Service Delivery 

LA28 seeks an experienced professional to serve as VP, Head of IT Service Delivery within the technology functional area. This mission critical service is central to the success of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. 

The LA28 IT Service Delivery team, through partnerships with Deloitte (Technology Services Integrator) and other partners, is responsible for: 

  • Core IT systems and services (including email, collaboration, identity)
  • IT service desk and deskside support
  • Office technology services (including meeting rooms and A/V)
  • Games time IT service delivery at all venues and associated central operations
  • IT equipment deployment, support and decommission 

The Head of IT Service Delivery is ultimately responsible for overseeing the planning, design, delivery and operational delivery of end-user devices and support deployed to the 50+ Olympic and Paralympic games competition and non-competition venues. This includes the commercial management of relevant IOC TOP partners, LA28 domestic partners and other service providers 

The position reports to LA28’s Chief Information Officer, is based in our Los Angeles offices, and is a member of the LA28 technology leadership team. The position will have a growing team of employees, contractors and volunteers to support services for the organizing committee and critical services at Games time. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve all service management functions (incident, request, change, problem and escalation), ensuring high levels of performance, timely and accurate reporting and service improvement activities. 
  • Deliver and develop a highly functional reporting and monitoring regime that demonstrates issues and opportunities and drives corrective actions. 
  • Oversee quality management and SLA reporting on key partners and service providers including the 24/7 TOC technology operations center at games time. 
  • Take ownership of major incidents to ensuring coordination of resources, effective communication to stakeholders and post incident reviews. 
  • Monitor, control and support service delivery; ensuring systems, methodologies and procedures are in place and followed. 
  • Champion service and support in technology projects impacting end users. 
  • Be accountable for the quality of service and performance; ensuring future demand from growth and projects is understood and factored into capacity plans for all associated systems. 
  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to ensure the security of LA28 assets. 
  • Develop and maintain a customer focused and service improvement culture. 
  • Own the planning and design of organization, policies, procedures and systems to support games time operations. 

Background & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area (e.g. science, engineering, technology) or extensive relevant experience (at least 10 years). 
  • Expert understanding and experience of implementing ITIL processes. 
  • Experience with the selection of, contracting with and managing of IT managed services providers. 
  • Proven ability to engage and establish strong relationships with a large set of very different stakeholders. 
  • Experienced in managing large and complex projects/programs with full budget accountability. 
  • Previous senior leadership experience in the planning and delivery of IT services with medium to very large organizations. 
  • A strong leadership presence and ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels. 
  • An outstanding collaborator, adept at working within a complex matrixed environment. 
  • Pragmatic with high energy, detailed in nature, with a passion for excellence. 
  • LA based with ability to travel to LA28 venues across the metro area. Occasional travel to out-of-state venues will also be required.

The annual base salary range for this position is $200,000.00 - $280,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
