The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

LA28, the organizers for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, is on a mission to create an unparalleled Games experience for athletes, fans, partners, our community and our people. The 2028 Olympics and Paralympics will represent LA and leverage the strength of our community’s creativity as we collectively work to design a Games that we all want to be a part of. We do this by focusing on people and by inviting everyone into the story of the LA28 Games.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Coordinator Live Sites and Venue Experiences 

The Live Sites (LIV) functional area is responsible for the planning & execution of LA28’s fan and spectator experiences both on- and off-premises during the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Live Sites are an extension of the Games’ competitive events, sharing the spirit of the Olympics and Paralympics with locals and visitors alike.   

We are seeking a solutions-oriented teammate, focused on supporting the delivery of inclusive and accessible experiences at both fan fests and sport parks. We are passionate about enhancing the fan experience and fostering community among Olympic and Paralympic enthusiasts and are looking for a like-minded candidate to join us.  

The Coordinator will report to the Head of Live Sites & Venue Experiences and support day-to-day planning and management activities. Working in our Los Angeles office, this position will collaborate with numerous functional areas to realize the overall delivery of the Olympic & Paralympic Games. LA28 is looking for a highly motivated candidate to support every facet of the team. The candidate must be organized, have a strong attention to detail, and be able to handle many diverse projects at once.  

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in event production, experiential marketing, and/or project management and bring a collaborative mindset to the team. 

At Games time, the Coordinator should expect to support the Live Sites & Venue Experiences team on the ground at Fan Fests and Sport Parks

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, maintaining, and optimizing project management plans, under the direction of the Head of Live Sites & Venue Experiences
  • Managing project logistics, timelines, files and systems including milestone, business, and service plans 
  • Creating presentations, tracking documents and other work products as needed 
  • Tracking contractual obligations and needs of commercial partners and sport federations, as needed 
  • Aiding in the planning and management of meetings & working groups 
  • Managing coordination and communication with other internal teams and stakeholders 
  • Owning knowledge management for the functional area, including tracking news, conducting research, and familiarizing oneself with past Games and competitor landscape 
  • Aiding in the creation and review of communication materials, planning guides and promotional content 
  • Managing additional administrative functions, as needed

Background & Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of work experience in event production, experiential marketing, and/or project management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint sites 

Position Requirements:

  • Strong operational delivery and program execution skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities simultaneously  
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail 
  • Clear communicator, with strong presentation preparation skills 
  • Self-starter, possessing the drive to start a project and see it through to completion 
  • Team player, willing to pitch in and collaborate well across cross-functional teams 
  • Problem solver, willing to take initiative & bring solutions to the table 
  • Passion for the Olympic & Paralympic Movement
  • Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related, relevant work experience

Expectations:

  •  Ability to work on-site in an office environment, based in Los Angeles, CA 
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment Willingness to travel and work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, specifically in 2028 at Games Time

The annual base salary range for this position is $27.40- $37.65/hour. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
