LA 2028 is a non-profit public benefit corporation. The specific purpose of the organization is to improve and enhance the quality of life of the residents of the City of Los Angeles, California, and the surrounding metropolitan area through the hosting of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. Its core activities include: (1) planning, organization, financing, promotion, sponsorship, hosting and staging the Games, (2) raising funds to be used to plan, organize, finance, promote, sponsor, host or stage the Games, and (3) creating and implementing sustainability and legacy programs for the Games.

United States Olympic and Paralympic Properties (USOPP) is a commercial joint venture between the Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2028 (LA 2028) and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC). The USOPP is the sole entity charged with marketing and selling combined commercial assets, including; rights to the 2022, 2024, 2026 and 2028 U.S Olympic and Paralympic Teams and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

Job Description:

The Manager of E-Commerce and Retail will support the day-to-day operations and growth of the e-commerce business across USOPC (United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee), NGB IP (National Governing Body Intellectual Property), and LA28 platforms. This role will help manage product assortment, inventory levels, and sales reporting, while coordinating digital campaign planning and execution. The Manager will also help organize retail operations for controlled environments at USOPC and LA28 marketing events, including Olympic Trials and LA28 Games retail. Reporting to the Director of E-Commerce and Retail, the Manager will assist in executing strategic plans, marketing calendars, and performance tracking. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with external agencies and vendors on daily tasks, timelines, and execution of digital marketing and e-commerce initiatives, including email campaigns and promotional offers
  • Support relationships with Fanatics and other licensees to assist in developing retailer-specific marketing campaigns and materials to drive sales of Team USA and LA28 merchandise
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to help build and maintain a fan/customer database and journey that delivers value to USOPP
  • Assist with the development and distribution of internal communications to engage database segments and fan communities of Team USA and LA28
  • Manage reporting and creative approvals for paid media campaigns in coordination with external agencies
  • Help maintain and execute marketing calendars that align with product launches and key retail periods
  • Support implementation of Team USA marketing campaigns to maintain year-round consumer engagement
  • Coordinate product seeding/influencer gifting logistics for new product launches
  • Liaise with retail partners to ensure marketing messaging aligns with Team USA and LA28 brand standards
  • Assist the licensing and retail teams in identifying and executing in-store marketing activations during key selling windows
  • Help coordinate visual merchandising and retail design elements (signage, fixtures, displays) across official retail spaces
  • Support exclusive partner program initiatives that enhance licensee value and drive traffic to teamusashop.com and LA28shop.org


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in e-commerce, retail, marketing, project management or related areas
  • Strong understanding of retail and e-commerce planning, campaign execution, and reporting 
  • Demonstrated success in supporting multi-channel retail and e-commerce programs 
  • Experience working with third-party vendors, suppliers, or licensees 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines with strong attention to detail 
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders 
  • Proactive, collaborative, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 
  • Experience supporting inclusive marketing or retail programs that enhance consumer accessibility 


Expectations:

E-Commerce & Retail Experience: 

  • Experience managing or supporting online store marketing
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle management (inventory, assortment planning, and reporting) 
  • Familiarity with multi-channel sales strategies (direct-to-consumer, wholesale, in-store, events) 

Marketing & Campaign Execution: 

  • Ability to contribute to digital campaigns (email marketing, paid media, promotional events)
  • Understanding of content calendars and syncing marketing efforts with product launches
  • Familiarity with influencer and product seeding programs

Relationship Management: 

  • Comfortable working with external partners, vendors, and licensees (e.g., Fanatics)
  • Effective collaborator with internal departments like creative, licensing, and marketing

Analytical & Organizational Abilities: 

  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to manage multiple timelines and priorities
  • Proficient in interpreting sales and marketing performance data
  • Experience using analytics dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics) 

Soft Skills: 

  • Strong communication (verbal and written)
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative thinking and visual merchandising sensibility
  • Passion for sports, events, or Olympic/Paralympic branding is a plus
  • Commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in consumer experiences

  • Majority of work may be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment
  • Visits to event venues and hospitality spaces may be necessary, involving physical inspections and coordination with venue staff
  • Site visits may require navigating varying environmental conditions in external locations
  • Travel frequency and duration will vary, with some roles requiring up to 25% of time away from home 
  •  Flexibility and adaptability to occasional physical or travel-related requirements
  •  All travel requires the candidate to manage their own luggage

 

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00 - $105,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
