The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.
LA28, the organizers for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, is on a mission to create an unparalleled Games experience for athletes, fans, partners, our community and our people. The 2028 Olympics and Paralympics will represent LA and leverage the strength of our community’s uniqueness and creativity as we collectively work to design a Games that we all want to be a part of. We do this by focusing on people and by inviting everyone into the story of the LA28 Games.
The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

LA28 Olympian/Paralympian Athlete Fellowship Program: WINTER 2026
Program
The LA28 Olympian/Paralympian Athlete Fellowship Program is a year-long opportunity featuring two six-month rotations across LA28’s operational teams. Successful candidates will complete one rotation from January to June 2026 and another from July to December 2026. Assignments will be determined based on interviews and the applicant pool. Fellows will gain valuable work experience, expand their networks, and provide feedback throughout the program.
Since its launch in 2021, the program has supported 39 participants and graduates. These Athlete Fellows have represented 16 countries and competed in 21 sports, collectively earning 27 Olympic and Paralympic medals across 17 editions of the Games.
Salary and Benefits
Fellows will receive a salary and benefits for their one-year commitment: $67,000.00
Candidate Profile
- Must have competed in Olympic or Paralympic Games (Summer/Winter/any year/USA or any country)
- Must hold current US work permit/employment authorization, no sponsorship will be provided.
- Must be retired from elite international competition and able to work full time.
- Excellent written, verbal skills and analytical ability
- Must live or be willing to relocate to LA area (relocation assistance not provided)

SPORT & GAMES DELIVERY
Energy
The Energy functional area is part of LA28’s core team. We are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of power to all functional areas within Games venues and facilities. Energy is a service provider within the OCOG, but it also receives services from other areas in order to deliver and operate successfully (Logistics, Accreditation, Technology and Transport, etc.). Note that the IOC considers the OCOG Energy functional area as the only responsible entity for delivery of power to Games’ operational locations, supporting Games’ operations. Energy can be broken down into three tiers.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program Management & Coordination: Develop and maintain tracking tools, dashboards, and databases; facilitate collaboration across functional areas; lead project planning meetings; manage budgets, cost estimation, and procurement contracts; organize information sharing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Games Operations & Delivery: Plan, schedule, and oversee construction, commissioning, operations, and decommissioning of energy systems; implement change management and daily reporting processes; manage supplier contracts, accreditation requirements, and training/onboarding for operational personnel.
- Electrical Design & Engineering: Collaborate with functional areas to design and integrate temporary electrical infrastructure with permanent venue power; support redundancy and reliability requirements; apply electrical engineering principles to meet venue power needs and functional area load requirements.
Event Delivery
The Event Delivery portfolio is an integration of critical functions of Event & Venue Management (EVM), Sport (SPT) and Venue Infrastructure (VNI), which are critical functional areas for the integrated operational planning for the Games. The Event Delivery portfolio is responsible for cross functional planning and integration not only with these FAs but across the entire organization as it relates to operational planning.
This includes leading the integrated event operational planning at the venue level for all competition and major non-competition venues. The design, procurement and delivery of all the temporary infrastructure and most importantly the delivery of the field-of-play and sport requirements for the athletes.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build tools and systems that supports central planning initiatives and drives processes for venue group teams (45+ venues).
- Develop event operational planning materials and presentations for venues as a foundation for integrated collaboration and planning across teams at LA28.
- Coordinate the cross-functional area working groups, issue resolution groups and support the issue resolution, decision making process for the team.
National Olympic and Paralympic Committee Services & Relations
National Olympic and Paralympic Committee Services & Relations (NCS) serves and supports the 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and 183 National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) who will bring their athletes and team officials to Los Angeles in 2028. NOCs, like Team USA, Team Japan, and Team Brazil or NPCs like Team Australia, Team Aruba, and Team GB have already begun preparing their operations to ensure their athletes have what they need to deliver their best performances on the world’s stage in less than three years!
As a truly international and cross-functional team, NCS serves as a vital bridge —facilitating communication, education, and collaboration between LA28 and the NOCs/NPCs throughout the Games life cycle. From hosting NOC/NPC visits and delivering strategic seminars to shaping athlete Games service levels across all LA28 functional areas, NCS plays a central role in pre-Games planning and preparation for both internal and external Games stakeholders.

Sport: Competition Management
LA28’s Sport Competition Management team is responsible for insuring all Olympic and Paralympic sports are delivered within International Federation (IF) requirements while providing world-class services that enable athletes to perform at their best. Sport Competition Management sits within Games Delivery and collaborates internally across departments (e.g., Venue Management, Venue Infrastructure, Transportation, Ticketing) and externally with key stakeholders (ex: IOC/IPC, IFs, Olympic Broadcast Services) to advance planning on deliverables such as venue design, competition schedule, and technical requirements.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage IF Site Visits by tracking visit requests by IF, logistics in the lead-up and during each site visit and ensuring internal communication across multiple departments
- Support Group Sport Managers and Sport Managers by tracking International Federation communications and helping prepare for Event Operating Planning sessions across competition venues
- Create Sport education resources for onboarding other FAs into the needs of Sport
- Manage administration of Olympic Results Information System travel including bookings, managing documentation and finalizing reports
Sport: Planning And Operations
LA28’s Sport Planning and Operations team oversees the central planning for all Olympic and Paralympic sports, ensuring consistency throughout the program across service levels, workforce, and delivery plans. Sport Planning and Operations sits within Games Delivery and collaborates internally across departments (e.g., National Committee Services (NCS), Accommodations, Legal, Finance, Programs and Planning) and externally with key stakeholders (ex: IOC/IPC, NGBs, Weather Services) to advance functional planning, policies, procedures, and Games-time operations.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with the NCS team to advance the planning for Sport operations within the Olympic and Paralympic Village (e.g., training venues, sport information center, athlete service levels).
- Support workforce planning across pre-Games and Games-time staff, technical officials, and sport skilled volunteers, including drafting timelines and recruitment strategies.
- Support the Planning and Operations team on key milestones such as workforce planning, testing and readiness, and sport equipment.
Venue Infrastructure
The Venue Infrastructure (VNI) team is responsible for ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of all venue infrastructure and overlay for the staging of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games – creating the optimal environment for athlete performance, fan engagement, and operational efficiency.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Venue Design Development, including cross-functional reviews and feedback, design team workshops, and integration in new design platform (tool for sharing drawings externally).
- Support with the development of venue design book overviews, including all presentations for onboarding LA28 and external stakeholders to the venue design book review process.
- Support the accessibility function within VNI, including support for all accessibility strategy development, venue audits and drawing reviews and presentation support for our main accessibility consultants.
Villages Management
Villages Management (VIL) is responsible for the planning, management, and operation of the Olympic and Paralympic Village as well as Satellite Villages. Villages Management works alongside both external partners (such as UCLA) and a wide range of other internal functional areas with the primary goal to deliver the best Village experience for all athletes, team officials, and stakeholders.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Villages Management to continue designing the venue and concept plan for the Olympic and Paralympic Villages with an Athletes’ first approach. Specific areas of focus can include Transportation, Accessibility, and overall flow throughout the Villages.
- Assist with Village workstreams to continue the operational planning, including defining service levels, displacement planning with UCLA, and working with many other FAs on cross-functional planning.
- Help facilitate site visits to the Village(s) for NOCs, NPCs, IFs, other LA28 functional areas, and others.
GAMES LOGISTICS & SERVICES
Accommodation
At Games time, the Accommodation (ACM) Functional Area serves as the central coordinator for all Olympic and Paralympic Games stakeholder accommodations. Its mission is to provide a seamless end-to-end lodging experience that enables each client group to perform their role effectively, while meeting service level expectations and honoring budget and contractual commitments. In practice, this means securing, managing, and operating accommodations for a wide range of stakeholder groups, ensuring equal quality of service for both the Olympic and Paralympic events. Across all these groups, ACM’s Games-time scope is truly end-to-end. From the moment stakeholders request their rooms through their stay and departure, the Accommodation FA orchestrates the entire journey to be smooth and satisfactory. In order to manage an accommodations load of approximately 65,000 rooms (over 1,000,000 room nights) across the Olympic and Paralympic Games, ACM will undergo a phased workforce expansion from mid-2025 through the 2028 Games. This staffing strategy leverages a small core of LA28 full-time employees (FTEs) supplemented by short-term contractors and volunteers, aligning growth with the department’s three functional pillars—Stakeholder Relations, University Housing (Media & Workforce), and Operations/Systems/Finance—to ensure each area is adequately staffed ahead of critical operational milestones.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with Finance and Procurement to refine the “Lifetime Operations Budget” for the Media Village (USC) and Workforce campuses (based at six CSU sites).
- Develop the volunteer / custodial (on-site labor) training package based on established IOC service Level Agreements for university-based housing.
- Work Cross-Functionally to develop the LA28 goods & services integration strategy for Village Management (VIL) and ACM.
Medical Operations
The Medical Operations rotation offers fellows the opportunity to engage in a dynamic environment dedicated to delivering excellence in health care services for all Olympic and Paralympic stakeholders. Fellows will experience collaborative teamwork across the Organizing Committee’s departments and the wider health care community, contributing to optimized medical services that balance quality care with cost-efficient Games operations. Additionally, this rotation highlights meaningful community involvement throughout all phases of Games delivery, providing a holistic perspective on the impact of medical operations in a global sporting event.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supporting the planning of the services that will be delivered to all stakeholders leading up to Games time including, athletes, workforce, spectators, NOCs/NPCs, and Olympic and Paralympic Family.
- Supporting the development of the Medical Workforce Recruitment plan, including volunteers. Collaborating cross functionally in understanding sport specific needs for medical support.
- Support the development of essential athlete programs that cover health education and promotion as well protection including a smoke free policy, illness and injury prevention, sexual health, health surveillance and response to health risks including communicable diseases, food-borne illnesses and exposure to biologic or chemical agents.
- Assist in development of venue specific emergency action plan to be shared with the relevant IFs and ratify these plans with the IOC/IPC. This should include medical provision on the field of play, in the athlete medical station and for emergency evacuation, as well as the Olympic Family House/Paralympic Family House, Main Press Centre and International Broadcast Center.
Transportation
The LA28 Transportation department oversees all the planning and delivery of transportation elements of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We aim to deliver a seamless system that serves all athletes, stakeholders, spectators, and workforce, while keeping the LA region moving.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning and preparation for Integrated Event Operations planning, focused on Games Stakeholder Fleet estimation and operations at venues.
- Support on Federal Funding pursuit, focused on technical analysis and refinement of key Games-related transportation initiatives including coordination with public agencies.
EXTERNAL AFFAIRS & GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
Government Affairs
The Government Affairs (GOV) team advocates for policies to enable a successful 2028 Games through Federal, State, and Local Governments. Stakeholders range from the City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department to U.S. Embassies around the world. The team serves the entire LA28 organization by working to secure Federal, State, and local resources and builds partnerships to ensure we leave a positive legacy for Los Angeles, the region, and beyond. In 2025 the Government Relations team launched National Engagement efforts to drive support for the Games across the United States.
The fellow will assist the GOV team with the overall development and implementation of LA28’s national engagement projects, including the Olympic & Paralympic Torch Relays and additional Games activations outside of California. They will be responsible for helping design and drive strategies and initiatives that enhance our relationships, secure necessary support, and allow us to engage and create a sense of excitement and anticipation for the Games across all 50 states.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Torch Relay Stakeholder Mapping: Building a database of government stakeholders (local Mayors, Governors, etc.) for all 50 states.
- Legislative, Policy, Political, and Community Research: Advise the National Engagement team on key national legislative updates, elections, and community demographics that will inform the 50-state activation strategy.
- Communications Monitoring: Monitor and track outreach from cities across the country, ensuring LA28 shares relevant information with stakeholders to create strong relationships.
- Elected Official Engagement: Support communication with government agencies, elected officials, and community partners across all impacted jurisdictions.
Impact & Legacy and Community Relations
Impact & Legacy (IML) and Community Relations are sub-functions of External Affairs which are responsible for developing and maintaining LA28’s reputation and fostering deep relationships with key external stakeholders, while leveraging the convening power of the Games to leave a positive impact on people and communities in the Los Angeles region.

- Support the execution and tracking of public-facing Impact programs, initiatives and activities connected to planning and delivering the Games in venue cities for example the LA28 Career Pathways program, and the Nike Coach Summit.
- Track relevant key performance indicators to advance the goals of the LA28 Impact & Sustainability Plan.
- Aggregate LA28 historical engagement data to help the story of LA28’s positive impact on the Los Angeles region.
PLANNING & PROGRAMS
Accessibility
The Accessibility Functional Area for LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committee is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the Games are inclusive and accessible to athletes, spectators, workforce, and other major stakeholders with various abilities, by embedding accessibility into every stage of planning, delivery, and legacy. This includes designing accessible venues, transportation, and digital platforms; providing assistive services; training staff and volunteers; and collaborating with experts and advocacy groups. During Games time, the focus shifts to operational readiness, ensuring seamless mobility, inclusive guest experiences, and accessible emergency protocols. Beyond the Games, the Accessibility FA drives long-term improvements in urban infrastructure, policy, and inclusive sports participation, leaving a lasting legacy of accessibility in the host city and future events.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- LA28 Accessibility Training and Content: Support development of accessibility training content by coordinating timelines, collecting feedback, and preparing workforce training materials.
- Event Operating Planning (EOP) Workshops and Site Visits: Assist in organizing and documenting accessibility workshops and site visits, capturing action items, observations, and recommendations.
- LA28 Accessibility Strategy: Maintain project trackers and deadlines for Accessibility Strategy deliverables; consolidate stakeholder input into summary reports.
- Generic Planning Principles Outline: Help distribute and monitor integration of planning principles across functional areas, ensuring updated and aligned documentation.
Games & Delivery: Project Management and Operational Planning
The Planning & Programs team manages the LA28 consolidated schedule, which is the single source of truth for what work needs to be done to deliver the Games. The team acts as a hub for all program management support to LA28 executives, departments, teams, functional areas and individuals to help them structure their work to drive outcomes necessary to deliver the Games. They deliver unambiguous reporting on the organization’s progress against their plans and owns systems to track risks, issues, and cross functional scheduling impacts. They maintain an open line of communications with the IOC and IPC to synchronize change controls and schedule updates. The Planning & Programs Team is service oriented and people facing as they work with every team across the organization. They also dive deep into data, systems, and processes.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support a cross-functional team in developing a custom project plan and report for a body of work.
- Own Games and Delivery (GAD) functional area milestone necessary to bring together teams centrally and deliver a cohesive Games between different venues and stakeholders.
- Act as a project coordinator for a functional area that needs to deliver an initiative or project.
- Maintain Helios system operations by partnering with schedule managers to update data and elevate risks or issues.
- Prepare reports for governance forums that have high visibility across the organization and directly to leadership.
Sustainability
The Sustainability team is responsible for working across the organization to deliver a more environmentally sustainable Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2028. The team is leading a collaborative effort to develop and execute LA28’s sustainability strategy, which accounts for operational programs and initiatives that help reduce the Games’ footprint across areas including carbon, energy, water, and waste. This function also works closely with LA28’s commercial and community partners to identify and activate environmental projects throughout the greater LA region that will help leave a lasting community impact leading up to and after the Games.

- Research current and prospective commercial partners to identify potential opportunities to collaborate on sustainability initiatives like minimizing single-use plastics during the Games.
- Support the roll out of LA28’s impact and sustainability plan and other priority deliverables like LA28’s climate strategy and LA28’s waste diversion strategy via project management, data collection, employee engagement, social media content, etc.
COMMERCIAL
Business Integration
The Business Integration (BI) team acts as the central hub connecting Commercial Partnerships with our internal functional areas. As experts in budget and supply, we are the main liaisons for LA28's functional areas, partners to the Sales team, and allies to the Finance team. Our team is focused on understanding partner capabilities, conducting in-depth category analysis, and ensuring quality control across all integrations.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sole Supplier Analysis: Support the Sole Supplier program specifically for the Sports functional area (participate in meetings, help build integration strategy).
- Partner Deep Dives: Conducting in-depth research on partners that are part of the Sole Supplier conversations to identify their capabilities and potential for expanded partnership that would offset the cost of Functional Areas beyond Sports.
- Sales top category BI support: Partner with Sales associates to map prospect partner capabilities for main categories for value in kind identification and to support the integration of new deals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participating in meetings with various teams to understand operational needs and support the identification of new opportunities for partnership expansion.
Commercial Hospitality
The Commercial Hospitality team is committed to redefining the Olympic and Paralympic Games hospitality experience by creating premium, revenue-generating offerings for stakeholders and fans. In collaboration with On Location, LA28’s Official Hospitality Provider, the team drives a commercial hospitality premium strategy that maximizes asset value, enhances guest experiences, and ensures revenue optimization across all touchpoints.

- Drive go-to-market hospitality marketing efforts through strategic planning and cross-team coordination.
- Assist in the development and creation of Olympic and Paralympic hospitality guides and product catalogue.
- Support the build and launch of the Hospitality ECommerce platform for seamless customer engagement.
- Execute targeted digital marketing campaigns to elevate HSP brand visibility and conversion.
Food & Beverage
Food & Beverage (FNB) will facilitate the feeding of stakeholders across all competition and non-competition venues, providing authentically prepared nourishment that meets a wide variety of ethical, cultural, religious, allergen, and dietary needs while providing a platform for communities hosting LA28 venues to tell their stories through integration of their diverse food, beverage, culture, and hyper-local businesses.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Request for Proposal (RFP): Support the RFP process for Minor and Temporary/Greenfield Venues by preparing Q&A session slides, organizing financial data, and developing bid summaries and analyses.
- Value-in-Kind (VIK) Budget: Contribute to the development of the global VIK budget as partnerships are finalized and track allocation by venue based on stakeholder needs.
- Community Integration and Impact: Coordinate small business vendor participation by managing vendor lists, communicating program acceptance, sharing operating standards, and developing initial vendor plans for Temporary/Greenfield venues.
Partnership Marketing
On behalf of LA28, USOPC, and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Properties (USOPP), the Partnership Marketing (PM) team acts as the steward of all contractual rights and benefits afforded to our Commercial Partners. PM is a collective of internationally experienced, deeply passionate marketers dedicated to maintaining a keen focus across all sponsorship elements of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements in the U.S. Designed from a management consulting model, PM strives to unlock exceptional value across our internal enterprise, as well as for each sponsor they serve.

- Support on PM’s initiatives for Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic & Paralympic Games.
- Assist in the onboarding of new Partners as they join the Movement, including assistance in deck creation, onsite coordination, etc.
- Research projects and overview decks on Movement-related initiatives and Potential Partner Integration.
- Provide Partner updates including news articles, quarterly earnings reports, and case studies.
- Support Partner contact database updates and organization.
EXPERIENCE & MARKETING
Digital Engagement & Marketing
The Digital Engagement and Marketing (DIG) team drives marketing and brand engagement efforts for LA28, leveraging digital platforms such as social media, website, email and content development to connect with and inspire fans. By collaborating across internal departments and engaging directly with key audiences—athletes, fans, communities, and partners—the DIG team creates compelling stories and promotional campaigns to drive excitement for the Games. Their work spans a variety of key channels, including Instagram, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, Facebook, LA28.org, email, website, and advertising. Newly added, LA28’s DIG team also has a new sub-function, Editorial Services, which is a team that focuses on developing written publications to inform and engage with external stakeholders such IOC, IPC, NOC, NPC, and the larger Olympic and Paralympic family.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate cross functional team meetings and project plans to deliver marketing campaigns for key programs such as volunteer, ticketing, and etc.
- Support the digital team in brainstorming, planning, capturing, and creating digital assets and content for specific campaigns, at LA28 events in the community and in support of key fan engagement initiatives.
- Draft editorial articles or emails that align with key content or campaign deliverables.
- Conduct industry research on new and emerging trends, Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls, and potential ambassadors and influencers.
- Participate in drafting, editing, and/or designing publications such as Ticketing Guides, Accommodations Guides, Individual Sports Handbook and etc.
Live Sites + Events & Engagement
The Live Sites & Venue Experiences team is responsible for the planning & execution of LA28’s fan and spectator experiences both on- and off-premises during the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Live Sites are an extension of the Games’ competitive events, sharing the spirit of the Olympics and Paralympics with locals and visitors alike.
The LA28 Events Team manages and executes internal meetings and events in support of all departments at LA28 as well as Team USA Partner-related meetings and events for the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Properties (USOPP). This includes event site selection, budgeting, timelines, food & beverage, audio-visual, décor/signage, look and feel, hotel room blocks, transport, and all key logistics and operational elements from concept to execution.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinating the development of digital guidelines for communities locally, regionally, and nationwide to design and develop their own LA28 fan fests to host.
- Design a primary tracker and establish review processes for the community-hosted fan fest strategy with key players internally and external partners.
- Supporting the Events Team both on-site at events and through organization and tracking of event details and paperwork, RSVPs and other planning details as well as onsite load-in, setup, event execution and teardown/load-out.

Communications
The Communications team leads storytelling for the organization, sharing LA28's remarkable journey and protecting the reputation of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. You’ll work across all LA28 departments—from marketing and brand, community impact and government relations, sport and athlete relations, and Games planning and delivery—gaining exposure to a variety of high-profile projects and cross-functional workstreams. This is a fast-paced environment where every week offers something different. Your storytelling skills will help engage millions, whether you’re crafting announcements that make headlines, supporting initiatives with lasting social impact, or collaborating with teams to engage athlete communities, fans, or partners from around the globe. SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitoring and sharing highlights from the daily news cycle.
- Develop compelling messaging and communications for a wide range of audiences both internal and external.
- Create tools and processes that empower the communications team and the broader organization.
- Learn about the media landscape and support responses to press inquiries.
- Support the team in brainstorming, planning, and executing creative projects and major announcements such as the Mascot, Torch Relay, Cultural Olympiad etc.
- Draft press releases and web stories for the LA28 website.
Legal & Rights Protection
Our team works with every functional area here at LA28 to provide advice on all matters affecting LA28’s legal rights and obligations. This includes protecting the valuable Olympic and Paralympic brand, helping bring to life brand and marketing activations, working on commercial sponsorship and licensing agreements, negotiating Games venue and hotel agreements, supporting community events, and more.

- Support rights protection efforts during the Milano-Cortina Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games.
- Analyze and approve requests for usage of Olympic and Paralympic intellectual property.
- Review and summarize foundational agreements and other important contracts.
- Collaborate with the team on tracking and management of cross-functional projects.
Paralympic Strategy
The Paralympic Strategy team is the face of the Paralympic Games at LA28! The team leads LA28’s efforts to fully align the Paralympic Games into every aspect of planning, operations, and delivery. Serving as the bridge between the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the USOPC, and internal functional areas, the department ensures that the unique needs of Paralympic athletes, fans, and stakeholders are embedded in decision-making. Through cross-functional coordination, accessibility-driven planning, and strategic oversight, the team champions a cohesive, inclusive, and world-class Paralympic Games experience.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Paralympic Integration Strategy: Support the creation of a cross-functional guide detailing Paralympic-specific requirements for venue operations, accessibility, ceremonies, and technology integration.
- Stakeholder Engagement Tracker: Develop and maintain a centralized system to track feedback and input from the IPC, USOPC, and athlete representatives, ensuring their priorities are reflected in planning milestones.
- Paralympic Strategy Progress & Impact Tracker: Support the development of a centralized tool to monitor the progress of key Paralympic strategy initiatives, owners, deadlines, and milestones.
People Team (HR): The Talent, Workforce & Volunteer
The Talent, Workforce & Volunteer team at LA28 is responsible for building and scaling a world-class workforce to deliver the Olympic and Paralympic Games. We focus on workforce planning, recruitment, talent management, organizational design, and Games-time readiness, ensuring the right people are in the right roles at the right time to support seamless operations. As part of this work, the Volunteer Program team leads the co-creation of a world-class volunteer experience, mobilizing and engaging more than 50,000 volunteers for the successful delivery of the Games while also building a pre-Games program that sustains the legacy of LA28 volunteering beyond the Games.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the planning and preparation of the workforce for the Games, with a focus on volunteer engagement and readiness.
- Assist in mapping workforce needs across paid staff, contractors, and volunteers to support Games-time operations.
- Support the development of the volunteer journey and strategy, helping to outline key milestones from recruitment through Games-time engagement.
- Contribute athlete insights to help shape volunteer experiences and ensure staff and volunteers understand how to best support athletes during the Games.
- Help track workforce planning milestones and flag any potential gaps in staffing needs as we prepare for the Games.
- Help inform and deliver priorities and milestones related to the LA28 Representation and Inclusion Strategy, including support of the Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
Technology
Technology enables the delivery and operations of virtually all aspects of successful Olympic and Paralympic Games. LA28’s Technology department works to support and implement a broad range of technologies across the organization. The Technology team delivers services, systems and operations in support of the Organizing Committee’s business needs and delivers specific Games planning services to various stakeholders.
SAMPLE PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsibilities will include documentation of user guides, process flows, and test scripts, facilitating working groups, training and/or testing activities with business users, troubleshooting and customer service skills to document issues. Daily tasks will include a high level of interaction with business users from functional areas across the organization. Fellows would be mentored in methodologies, applications and technologies, and given access to training that could support a future career in Tech.
- Games System Implementations: Supporting LA28 team members to interface with vendors and business team members to manage requirements, writing and executing testing documentation to ensure delivered system complies with requirements.
- Business Process Discovery: Analyze business processes to gather requirements across functional areas, understanding functional needs. Develop training documentation and facilitate training sessions to ensure business adoption of new technology, across various tech initiatives (Salesforce, Microsoft applications, Data Warehouse, etc.).
The annual base salary range for this position is $67,000.00.
