Sr Manager, Facilities:
The Logistics department is responsible for effectively and efficiently providing materials management and logistics support to all LA28 functions. The Senior Manager, Facilities will be responsible for assisting the Head of Facility Management with the day-to-day management of LA28’s Headquarter facilities for Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic events. This role will play a primary role in the physical management of the on-site warehouse space; be the principle lead in LA28 HQ space planning; receipt, tracking and distribution of incoming parcels and deliveries; as well as communicate when directed to the building’s management structure to ensure all LA28 equipment works safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Space Planning
- Lead scaled, concurrent construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects from concept to completion
- In collaboration with Real Estate Acquisition, lead the planning for HQ facility acquisition, including space allocation exercises
- Plan and oversee design coordination meetings with relevant stakeholders (architects, engineers, contractors, and owners)
- Monitor and track project deliverables and milestones
- Prepare ad-hoc reports, financial comparison, and project change orders, as required
- Support the space planning and material needs for LA28 HQ buildout operations (ie Main Operations Center, Functional Command Centers, Board Meetings, etc.)
- Conduct random field inspections with relevant stakeholders
Facilities Management
- Support the planning, operations, and maintenance of LA28 offices, and warehouses, serving as the point of contact for facility-related projects and escalations
- Select, contract, and manage facility service providers (e.g., janitorial, security, maintenance, utilities), including service agreements and escalation protocols
- Aid in the forecasting of staffing and resource needs, especially during peak periods (test events, games time periods)
- Have input into facility budgets, forecasts, and cost-control strategies, negotiating contracts as required ensuring best value to LA28
- Support the tracking and reporting of financial performance
- Assist with developing policies to manage the inbound / outbound flow of goods and materials in the on-site warehouse
- Aligning with Technology, contribute to the development of a work-order system for internal clients to input work requests, warehouse space needs, and any manpower assistance
- Oversee the sorting, processing, and distribution of incoming / outgoing packages, ensuring proper labeling and routing of all parcels
- Support LA28 sustainability initiatives
- Help guide compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental standards
- Advise and assist with the recruitment, training, evaluation and management of Facility staff
- Contribute to setting goals and evaluating performance of staff
- Help facilitate the development of training programs for staff
- Support individual and collective growth of all team members
Experience:
- 7+ years experience in Facility Management, Engineering, Building Maintenance or related field
- Experience with vendor / contractor management, in large-scale, multi-floor environment building client relationships
- Proven ability to project manage multiple locations concurrently
- Excellent analytical skills: ability to make decisions both independently and within a team environment
- Strong IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- A team player with a strong customer service focus with and a desire to go the extra mile
- Demonstrate ability in upward / downward communication
- Competence to present and clearly communicate to audiences in a multitude of public / private settings, as required
- Willing to work on complex, tight, immovable timelines while maintaining a positive attitude, exhibiting patience, persistence and
- Experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-national environment
- High attention to detail
Expectations:
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to vendors, suppliers, local union personnel
- Experience managing non-capital construction projects, temp builds in Southern California
- Knowledge of local regulations and building codes
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret highly complex building regulations
- Must be proficient with computers as well as Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)
- Confident self-starter – Ability to make quick decisions, gathering input from key stakeholders and advancing the initiative forward
- Collaborative, flexible approach with an ability to roll with the transitional nature of the organization as it grows and establishes itself over the next 2-3 years
- Team player – ability to scale up and down and drive both flawless execution

Education:
- An undergraduate degree or relevant experience in Building or Construction Management, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or Architectural Sciences
The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000.00 - $140,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
