Manager, Venue Security (Central Planning & Operations):
The Venue Security Manager (Central Planning and Operations) will play a pivotal role in the design, planning, and integration of Venue Security for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills who can work collaboratively with multiple functional areas (departments,) government and public safety agencies, and a diverse set of private stakeholders to ensure the highest levels of security and operational efficiency during the Games. The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills. This position reports to the Director, Venue Security.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Integration:
- Primary representative of the Safety and Security Department for critical centralized planning tasks, including, but not limited to private security officer coverage planning, developing standard infrastructure and furniture, fixtures and equipment plans for security spaces in all Venues,
- Develop standardized security technology overlays for all LA28 Venue Security Spaces in collaboration with members of the Safety and Security Team, Event Management, Transportation, Logistics, Venue Partners, Private Security providers and Public Safety Agencies.
- Develop venue-based security plans that provide the highest level of Security while minimizing impacts to critical event operations.
- Develop unified security plans with support from internal teams and external partners (law enforcement, transportation authorities, emergency services, and private vendors)
- Develop and integrate plans for Pre-Games Test Events with key stakeholders.
- Serve as the main point of contact/liaison for the Safety & Security Department with key functional areas, Venue contacts, government/public safety agencies, as required.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Contribute to risk and Venue assessments to identify vulnerabilities
- Develop mitigation strategies and oversee implementation of approved security plans.
- Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as international best practices for event security.
Operational Coordination:
- Oversee and deliver the LA28 approved Security Operation Plan at assigned Venue(s) and ensure adherence to all approved LA28 Policies and Procedures at the Venue at Games time.
- Oversee private security partners during the pre-Games period at Venues and construction sites. Complete incident reports and daily status reports as required.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary liaison between LA28 Functional Areas, assigned Public Safety and Security Agencies, and the Safety and Security Department, as assigned.
- Manage relationships with external partners, including law enforcement agencies, regulatory entities, state/regional traffic management organizations, and service providers.
Project Management:
- Chair planning meetings or working groups, as assigned, to ensure timely delivery of milestones and deliverables.
- Complete regular status reports, draft and share meeting notes and agendas, and draft policy and procedure documents, as required.
Background & Requirements:
- Minimum of 5+years of experience in a fast-paced, venue safety/security position.
- Experience in cross functional security planning and collaboration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
- Experience in private security planning and management, event security, and event logistics planning, specifically international, multi-sport events preferred.
- Experience working with the federal, state, or local government is preferred.
- Experience in event security planning or large-scale project management is preferred.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree Security/Law Enforcement, Emergency Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications or specialized training in Security, Law Enforcement, Public Safety, and/or Project Management, preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- The position is based in Los Angeles with in-person attendance required.
- The LA28 office is an open-plan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open-cubicle environment.
- During the planning phase, there will be occasional requirements to work long shifts, hours outside of traditional business hours/days to support deliverables and special events, travel, and the 2028 Games.
The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000-$115,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
