LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles’ third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. This presents the unique and exciting opportunity to celebrate our legacy with the Games and push the Olympic and Paralympic Movements forward, writing a new chapter of Games history in Los Angeles.

Sr. Associate, Marketing Operations

LA28 is looking for a master of organization who thrives in high-stakes, fast-paced environments and is passionate about joining the Digital Engagement & Marketing (DIG) team.   

The Sr. Associate, Marketing Operations will serve as a critical engine driving the DIG department forward with an operational mindset. She/heThis person will work closely and collaboratively with the overall Marketing team and cross-functional stakeholders including but not limited to central planning, procurement, community, communications, and the people team. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, managing project timelines, cross-functional campaigns, and critical Games-time planning. A successful candidate will work as a project manager on select projects across social media, digital content, website, mobile app, email marketing and fan/spectator communications. This person will be a key protector of the LA28 brand and a key contributor in building a legacy for the Olympic and Paralympic Movement through the lens of the fans and athletes.  

The ideal candidate is a detail oriented and hands-on leader who thrives at the intersection of digital marketing, project management, and communications. This role will report to the VP, Marketing and Digital Engagement. 

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management  

  • Act as a primary project manager for the VP, Marketing and Digital Engagement, ensuring special projects are tracked, milestones are met and deliverables are executed flawlessly 
  • Build, maintain, and manage master project timelines for specific projects and organizational milestones 
  • Serve as the central connective tissue between core digital functions, working closely with Integrated Marketing, Social Media, Digital Content, Web, App, and Email Marketing teams  

 Operations & Games-time Planning 

  • Own the administrative and operational planning for Games-time execution, ensuring schedules, resources, and workflows are optimized from Pre-Games to Games-time readiness 
  • Establish and maintain project management frameworks, templates, and tools like Smartsheet and Asana to streamline communication and workflows across all marketing sub-functions 
  • Facilitate key cross-functional alignment meetings, capturing action items and riving accountability across internal teams 

 Stakeholder Relations & Presentations  

  • Represent DIG as a point of contact and ensure alignment on shifting priorities, deliverables, and deadlines for cross-functional stakeholders, external stakeholders such as USOPC, IOC, and IPC, and partners  
  • Draft presentations on key projects to show progress reports and milestone deliverables 

Background & Requirements:

  • Minimum 4+years of direct experience in sports business, marketing operations or related marketing environment  
  • Strong operational and program execution skills required with a keen focus on accuracy, organization, and delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines 
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple complex projects simultaneously without letting details slip through the cracks  
  • Excellent presentation preparation skills and ability to work successfully with varied audiences (internal and external stakeholders) 
  • Proficient in project management tools such as Smartsheet and Asana  
  • Knowledge and first-hand experience within the sports marketing industry.Experience in the Olympic or Paralympic Movements is a plus  
  • Clear communicator with attention to detail    
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization

  • Commitment to understanding industry trends  

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.   
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.    
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.    
  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.  
  • Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.  

The annual base salary range for this position is $73,000.00 - $98,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
