About The Role

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Accounting Manager with a CPA designation to join our fast paced, mission driven finance team at a pivotal stage of growth. In this high impact role, you will lead key accounting operations, own the month end close process, ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and be instrumental in building scalable accounting infrastructure to support our expanding SaaS and marketplace business.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a role that blends operational excellence with strategic visibility. You’ll engage with stakeholders across all departments, playing a key role in aligning financial strategy with broader business objectives. For the right candidate, this role offers a clear and fast track pathway to a Controller position, as you’ll be empowered to take ownership, drive process improvements, and leave your mark on a company shaping the future of procurement in Pharma and Biotech.

This role is based out of our corporate headquarters office in Boston. We are a flexible hybrid environment with 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in the office. Please note that we are only accepting candidates that reside in the greater Boston area.

How You Will Contribute

Accounting & Reporting

  • Oversee general ledger accounting and the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Consolidated financial statements across domestic and international subsidiaries.
  • Own the revenue recognition process (ASC 606) for both SaaS subscriptions and marketplace transactions.
  • Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and implement process improvements.

Audit & Compliance

  • Support annual financial audits.
  • Manage quarterly and yearly tax filings while working with external advisors.
  • Maintain documentation and internal control procedures.
  • Partner with Legal to review and account for new contracts.

Systems & Scalability

  • Support system upgrades and ERP improvements (SAP B1).
  • Help automate and scale billing, payments, collections, and reconciliation processes.
  • Work with contractors and internal stakeholders to implement new systems, Tableau, Stripe, Avalara, credit card processors, etc.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supervise Staff Accountant and work with contractors.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support decision making across the business.
  • Support strategic initiatives through KPI tracking, cost optimization and operational efficiency improvements.

What You Bring to the Team

  • CPA required with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SaaS accounting best practices.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a SaaS business.
  • Solid technical and operational accounting expertise.
  • Experience at a Big 4 or top-tier public accounting firm is a plus.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with ASC 606, subscription billing and commission accounting.
  • Familiarity with consolidated financial statements and foreign exchange accounting preferred.
  • Experience with tax return preparation and sales tax compliance is a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel and financial systems; experience with SAP Business One is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and cross functional collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail, with a proactive, ownership driven mindset.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
