Business Development Representative
About the Role
Labviva is looking for a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to help drive growth by creating new business opportunities. In this role, you’ll focus on generating leads and building relationships within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and higher education research sectors, with a particular emphasis on Procurement teams.
We’re seeking someone who is coachable, curious, and driven to build a career in sales. You’ll leverage your communication skills to engage prospects, understand their needs, and open the door for meaningful conversations. This role is based out of our corporate headquarters office in Boston. We are a flexible hybrid environment with 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in the office. Please note that we are only accepting candidates that reside in the greater Boston area.
How You will Contribute
- Prospect & Outreach – Proactively engage potential clients through calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other channels to spark interest in Labviva’s solutions
- Qualify Opportunities – Conduct discovery conversations to identify pain points, and assess fit
- Meeting Generation – Schedule and coordinate introductory meetings between prospects and Sales Leadership to advance the sales cycle
- Market Research – Research organizations, contacts, and trends to personalize outreach and uncover new opportunities
- Pipeline Development – Build and maintain a healthy pipeline using both self-sourced leads and additional database resources
- CRM Management – Document activities, track lead progression, and maintain data integrity within HubSpot
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with Supplier Operations, Engineering, Product, Finance and Legal teams to ensure alignment and deliver a seamless experience to prospects
- Industry Engagement – Represent Labviva at conferences, trade shows, and networking events to expand market presence.
What You Bring to the Team
- 2+ years experience in inside sales, lead generation, or customer-facing roles at a SaaS company, ideally selling into the life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Ability to clearly articulate value propositions and business cases to senior decision-makers across businesses, specifically the Procurement function
- Self-starter with entrepreneurial instincts, strong work ethic, and a team-first mentality
- Excellent verbal and written skills, with persistence and resilience when facing rejection
- A genuine interest in life sciences and biotech, with the ability to learn and understand complex scientific products and procurement processes.
- Experience with CRM tools, HubSpot preferred, and other modern sales technologies
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay detail-oriented, and consistently follow up
