IT Engineer
Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Engineer collaborates with internal stakeholders to implement and support a wide range of technical solutions. The role encompasses troubleshooting and maintaining workstations, network infrastructure, and related services across the organization. Labviva seeks a talented, personable, and detail-oriented self-starter who is motivated to excel and grow. Success in this position demands outstanding communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with colleagues and clients at all organizational levels.
This role is based out of our corporate headquarters office in Boston. We are a flexible hybrid environment with 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in the office. Please note that we are only accepting candidates that reside in the greater Boston area.
How You Will Contribute
- Configure and maintain end-user hardware (laptops, docking stations, monitors, printers, etc) to ensure reliable day-to-day operation.
- Execute onboarding and offboarding processes, provisioning accounts, devices, and access in accordance with security and compliance standards.
- Provide timely end-user support, responding to help-desk tickets and delivering effective technical solutions within defined SLAs.
- Diagnose and resolve workstation issues, conducting root-cause analysis and implementing preventive measures to minimize recurrence.
- Safeguard the company’s security posture by adhering to best practices that protect systems, data, and intellectual property.
- Partner in administering and optimizing core IT services, including corporate email, cloud-based applications, and single sign-on (SSO) platforms.
- Advance corporate objectives by collecting pertinent data, evaluating solution options, recommending courses of action, and escalating to leadership when appropriate.
- Maintain connectivity and collaboration tools, managing wireless networks, conference-room technology, and related deployments.
- Embrace continuous learning, expanding technical skill sets and adapting to evolving organizational needs as Labviva grows.
What You Bring to the Team
- 3+ years of professional IT experience in a support or engineering capacity, preferably in a start-up environment.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Experienced in administering Okta, Google Workspace, and Apple Device Management/MDM solutions.
- Strong knowledge of macOS and proven ability to administer and support Apple laptops.
- Comprehensive understanding of core IT domains - network infrastructure, VPN technologies, email services, endpoint security, and hardware lifecycle management.
- Practical experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, JSM) for ticketing and documentation.
- Familiarity with SOC 2 and other compliance frameworks, with a commitment to best-practice security and governance.
- Outstanding communication, organization, and multitasking skills; meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude, with a customer-centric mindset.
- Proven ease in partnering with personnel at all organizational levels.
- Communicating complex IT concepts clearly and effectively to non-technical users.
- Exposure to Kandji, AWS, and Terraform a plus
