Fleet Mobile Technician

La Hydro Jet is seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet Mobile Technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair company-owned vehicles and equipment at various fleet locations. This position is responsible for keeping the company fleet safe, reliable, and operational while minimizing vehicle downtime.
 
This position is dedicated to La Hydro Jet’s fleet only and does not involve servicing outside customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on company fleet vehicles.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, suspension, steering, brake, and engine performance issues.
  • Perform brake inspections, repairs, and replacements.
  • Diagnose and repair suspension and steering systems.
  • Diagnose and repair engine performance and drivability concerns.
  • Perform oil changes, battery replacement, belts, hoses, filters, and fluid services.
  • Conduct vehicle safety inspections and identify maintenance concerns.
  • Respond to fleet vehicle breakdowns and perform mobile repairs when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts, and maintenance performed.
  • Communicate vehicle repair needs and status with fleet management.
  • Maintain the mobile service vehicle, tools, diagnostic equipment, and parts inventory.
  • Follow all La Hydro Jet safety policies and procedures.
  • Help minimize fleet downtime through efficient, accurate, and quality repairs.
Required Qualifications
  • Must hold a minimum of two current ASE certifications.
  • Valid Class C Driver License required and must be maintained in good standing.
  • Previous automotive or fleet maintenance experience.
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment and standard mechanic tools.
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to vehicle safety.
  • Good communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to travel between La Hydro Jet fleet locations.
  • Must be willing and available to work weekends, nights, and holidays as needed to support fleet operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASE A4 – Suspension & Steering certification.
  • ASE A5 – Brakes certification.
  • ASE A8 – Engine Performance certification.
  • Additional ASE certifications, including A6 – Electrical/Electronic Systems.
  • Experience working on commercial vans, trucks, or fleet vehicles.
  • Fleet maintenance experience.
  • Advanced electrical and computer diagnostic experience.
  • Welding or fabrication experience.
Compensation & Benefits
  • $70,000 – $85,000 annual salary

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to lift and handle automotive parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, stand, climb, and work underneath vehicles.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, jacks, lifts, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform repairs in roadside and other field environments when required.
  • Ability to safely handle heavier components with appropriate equipment or assistance.
Work Environment
This is a company fleet maintenance position with La Hydro Jet. The mechanic will work primarily on company-owned vehicles and equipment at fleet yards, company locations, and roadside locations when necessary.
The position may require night, weekend, and holiday work depending on fleet needs, breakdowns, emergencies, and operational requirements.
 
No outside customer service is required.

L.A. Hydro-Jet and Rooter Service determines compensation based on the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
