Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to oversee and support our specialty surgery team in Gig Harbor, WA. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician with 5+ years of advanced anesthesia and surgical experience who is ready to step into a leadership position—guiding a talented team while maintaining hands-on involvement in patient care.

What You'll Do:

Provide advanced anesthesia support for specialty surgical procedures, including creating anesthetic plans, administering drugs, monitoring patients with advanced equipment, and managing recovery

Lead the surgical technician team, overseeing workflow, delegating tasks, and ensuring consistent delivery of gold standard care

Mentor, train, and develop staff, serving as a role model and resource for anesthesia, surgical nursing, and patient safety practices

Support surgeons and the surgical service in case preparation, perioperative nursing care, and maintaining sterile technique for complex soft tissue and orthopedic procedures

Implement and uphold protocols to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality standards across all surgical cases

Collaborate with hospital leadership on scheduling, workflow, and team development initiatives

Foster a culture of teamwork and accountability, encouraging open communication and shared learning

Advocate for patients by promoting best practices in pain management, monitoring, and recovery care
What We're Looking For:

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Washington (or eligible for reciprocity)

Minimum of 5 years anesthesia experience; specialty or advanced surgical anesthesia strongly preferred

Proven leadership or mentorship experience within a veterinary hospital setting

Mastery of advanced anesthesia and surgical nursing techniques, with the ability to troubleshoot and teach others

Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Schedule:
Full-time, Sunday–Tuesday
